I never really loved him anyway.

His hair isnt even that good.

He will soon come crawling back when he realises how much he misses us and needs us.

I cant wait for us to be single and out on the town again.

Bitch.

They have a vested interested in maxing out the salary the player gets because they'll be getting a cut of it. Could be that the agent has overstepped the mark in an effort to make a quick buck.

On the broader point about Armstrong's role in the team: we'd miss him in a big way. His improvement has been sudden but it doesn't look like a purple patch; he's worked on his game and improved enormously. There aren't many midfielders with a great engine, first touch, eye for a pass and ability to score goals. There are even less Celtic can afford. We should hold on to him for as long as we can.

Can you sort out that new contract for me? Just as I want to concentrate on my chosen profession, and this sort of peace of mind (where I don't need to micromanage every single thing) is what I pay you for and suchlike.

Is it this Pro Legal running alongside the PFA who is acting (the carrot) for Armstrong? I'm sure I heard somewhere there was an Indian guy involved.

Not really. If it is a good agent he will try and get the best deal for his client.

He will be advising his client that he can get more money down south and if he is a good agent he will

already have verbal offers, if not written, from several clubs.

Now, if Stuart turns round and says, "get it sorted with Celtic", if the agent wants to retain him as a client he'll do it ASAP.

Again, if he is a good agent he will not be touching any of Stuart's money.

He would take 10% of his overall deal and this would be paid over the duration of the contract.

Let's say 20k per week over 4 years. That would be 416k for the agent paid over the four years at 104k per instalment.

This would be paid separately by the club and would not effect Stuart's money at all.

Is that for real? So if Celtic give Armstrong or anyone a deal for 20 grand a week, they effectively pay 22?

BR on @StuArmstrong16 contract latest: "Final year of his contract and we hope he signs a new one."
BR: "Speak regularly with the boy and he wants to be here. If his agent can speak with the club and organise a deal then would be great."
BR: "He's a boy I really like and someone who still has development and a young player who I believe wants to be at Celtic."

Dear Stusyballs,

Be patient. I've got 3 offers from down south, there is interest from a Bundesliga club and also a Spanish club.

You've had the best season of your career and your stock is high at the moment.

Remember, you don't pay me, the clubs pay me. But if you want me to close the deal with Celtic, I'll do it tomorrow, or today even.

I'll tell the other clubs that their 45k a week is not important to you.

Just say the word and I'll push the button on it.

Regards,

Agentywagenty

Yip, that's how the agents' game works. But the agent's fee can be separately negotiated to maybe 5% or a one-off payment, etc. When Bale went to Real it was a one off payment - 10m. :cuckoo:

The deal will be for 22k a week. Armstrong gets 20, agent gets 2. Celtic pay all of it no matter how you want to cook it up.

You can call that 22/week with Armstrong paying the agent if it makes you feel better? Same thing at the end of the day.

No, I get that. I had assumed club would pay agents' fees, for instance when a deal is signed, and then the player would pay to keep someone employed as their agent after that.
