Was very poor on Sunday and needs to do more. Don't know what the issue is but he needs to be dropped in favour of Allan or some else.

Some supporters must have a one week memory span. Anyone saying he isn't good enough must have missed the second half of last season.

He isn't good enough this season.

You're only as good as your last game and all that.

He hit the ground running but he's been fulfilling his original promise of being an average SPFL player

the performances had started to tail off before the end of the season.
there's no sign of that correcting with Sunday being just the latest in a line of 4 or 5 /10 shows.

it might just be its too big for him at Celtic.

He started the season well then got injured. He's been poor since his return. He needs a spell out the team but to say his form has been slipping since the end of last season is wrong imo.

Considering retirement

In my opinion he's a good player having a severe dip in form. To that end, I don't think it's an ability thing (to play at a certain level) with Armstrong. In that sense it's different to Mackay-Steven who I've never really been convinced about as a serious long term contributor. Whether then it's injury, confidence, positional or managerial is an obvious question.

Technically he is one of few we have who is comfortable enough with the ball at his feet, can take it in under pressure and still find a pass. There's not been enough of even that from him recently, never mind anything like a significant contribution.

He won't be the first player to have ever played for a club of our size to look like he has hit the ground running and then seem to be a bit overwhelmed by the expectation in the environment he is now working in.

Have never agreed with the proof by vigorous assertion that he is not a player capable of playing wide. He produced his best work in that role, or in behind the striker.

Players change as years pass, and there is no reason he can't learn the skills required to play a deeper, more central role, and also develop the mentality to anchor a midfield. It could be argued that Scott Brown never had that mentality when he first came to the club either.

Needs a bit of coaching help through this sticky patch to be honest, including perhaps rotated a bit more with Allan.

Was he even that good last season? Had a few good games, but was largely 'awright' and nothing spectacular.

I think there's some truth in this. He was significantly better than this season, but I felt he seemed promising rather than convincing last season.

He's been pish longer than he was good.

Severe dip in form of he was playing above himself in his first months at the club?
