6/10 is pretty pish was my point.

He keeps the ball well sometimes but he's not imposing enough.

The pass at the end was really daft, particularly as we were looking pretty threatening from set-pieces. Although I can see why a player would try it to get a different angle and make something happen at the end of a game.

I thought he was pretty good in the first half, for me he took the most responsibility out of the midfield three, and his reading of the game stopped them breaking away a few times. His cross-field pass to Griffiths in the second half was also brilliant.

He definitely has running power and pace, but I think he really needs to add a bit of gallus to his game, as does Mackay-Steven. There were quite a few moments where their touch looked to nervous as they tried to flick it where a heavier touch and more belief would have seen them pull off some of the more intricate passes they were trying.

I'd agree with this. I often end games feeling like he's been alright, but can't actually remember anything he did particularly well. I do know his set pieces are rotten.

I always wonder why 5/10 or 6/10 is considered a low rating when you see player ratings in newspapers etc. That's a pass in most exams. Presumably it means the scale includes the very worst possible level of play - i.e. realistically the worst contribution a pro footballer could make to a game is about 5 out of 10 because 1/10 would be just some random bloke off the street, or me, or Mo Bangura.

Anyway. Aye. Stuart Armstrong. I guess not being particularly good out wide is not conclusive proof that you need to be playing in the middle. Who'd have thought?

No one else think there was a slight improvement from Armstrong last night? Still had poor moments, but I thought there were encouraging signs.

I think he just seriously lacks confidence. As do many players.

Yes. Also, especially given the makeshift nature of the midfield, I thought it was good how often players like Armstrong and Forrest took responsibility.

If Bitton had the same game as Griffiths last night he would be getting MOTM votes

Armstrong was honking last night the only possible reason I can think for people saying he was good is because they have gone on about him needing to be played centrally for so long they don't want to look silly.

This. CM is his best position and there has been some sympathy for him being stuck out on the flanks week in, week out. Thought he was mediocre at best on Thursday when he had a great opportunity to stamp his authority on the game from his favoured position. He has been generally disappointing this year, given the player we thought we had signed. Not writing him off, but he really has to start stepping up to the plate.

Was at the game and thought from a not very good position to watch a game of football ( behind the goals ) that he was murder.

That's as bad as he has played in recent weeks - and that is up against some real crap.

Watched the game again when I came home and my first impression was correct.

He was dross , worse than that , he was half hearted dross - shown up in attitude by the young boy he shared the left flank with.

Hardly entered a tackle - why should he with Tierney getting stuck in all day long.

Touch like an elephant and misplacing passes - crossing awful - first man clearances or overhit for every option in the box.

Horror show - he is a better player than that -but no way should he be in our starting 11 on current form.

He's got big problems.

Allan looks promising and has the will of the support behind him due to his style of play. Johansen is immune from being dropped apparently. Rogic, while not completely convincing, has offered far more in recent weeks and McGregor has taken his chance, and at least shown a bit of effort and desire. Not sure how long Commons and Forrest are out for, but I imagine both of them will be ahead of him too. With Brown out for a while it's real shame this guy isn't applying himself more in games. He's shown nothing to suggest he could offer us anything in the middle of the park.

I keep hearing people say he's a better player than he's showing. Not sure how much evidence there is of that. There's plenty evidence to suggest he's rank rotten, though.

Needs benched ASAP.

If he's going to play at least take him off set-pieces because he's effing rubbish at them.
