Tierney is consistently outstanding against high level opposition. Locked onto Oxlade and phasing out his run perfectly, when Armstrong blocks Tierney allowing the attacker to shape and shoot "round the corner" through the gap for the first. The second is illustrative of the insipid laconic arrogance that I associate with British suit salesmen. Couldn't summon one quarter the intensity of his team mates.

He made a bad error initially for the equaliser but there then followed a catalogue of errors before the ball hit the net. Kane actually took the goal very well, ball dropping over his shouldder and guided in, not easy.
He clears it and none of the other errors are possible.
Equally, he hoofs it forward, England launch it back down the park and score, and he'll be blamed for not keeping the ball when Scotland were breaking with two men over.

Bad pass, but it was the right decision in terms of relieving pressure. It's the kind of stuff that time and again we applaud european teams for doing against Celtic, in showing game intelligence.

As was mentioned, there was a catalogue of errors that followed, and any competent centre half would have got tighter on Kane.
It was the wrong decision. He had an overload on the left.

Otherwise, I thought he played well. Definitely looked at home at that level. If only Strachan had played him in a position where we could have got him breaking in behind. Sticking him on the left was just daft given his recent form.

He effed it something awful at the equaliser.

He should just hoof that as far as he can. They can't score from row Z in their own half. Otherwise, the easier pass it to his left, the boy on the right was always going to have the English defender right on top of him - and he way overhit the pass anyway.

It was a horrific decision. There is no way someone clearing the ball out of a packed defence when his team are hanging on in the last minute of a game should ever attempt to thread a pass through the middle. He should ideally have switched it left or, failing that, get it the hell out of the park and get everyone organised back behind the ball.

It cost us the game.

Still love him though.

I thought he had a good game. Tired mind and tired pass for the equaliser. But he was 40 yards out. I blame mulgrew for the goal and
...and what? I've been refreshing the page for 5 hours.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

Correct.
He plays the ball out to the left and we have won the game.

Thought he wasn't in the game much due to the tactics / formation we played.

He made a mess of it, but it's unsurprising that he didn't look to his left. Robertson is a decent player, but I thought he was very slow / lazy in getting forward on loads of occasions yesterday.

We'd have got a lot more joy on the left side with Tierney there.

There was actually one point late in the game, outside the England area where Armstrong had possession and looked two or three times for Robertson who was elsewhere, so that may have been on his mind. Doesn't excuse the poor pass but might explain his decision.

He's yet to prove himself consistently against top opposition. Would be very silly of him to leave us at this stage.

STUART ARMSTRONG has revealed he’s on the verge of signing a new deal with Celtic.

The Scotland star has been in talks with Brendan Rodgers about extending his stay at Parkhead and is ready to put pen to paper.

Armstrong, modelling the new Hoops away kit said: “We had decided to leave it until the season was finished and then we would pick things up again.

“I’m sure we will take care of that soon. You can never put a time limit on these things. This is the happiest I have been in my footballing career.

“That has shown on the park, I am very happy and playing some of the best football of my life.”

Armstrong’s season ended with Scotland’s 2-2 draw against England last weekend and he said: “There has been a lot of work and a lot of games and travelling so I will be looking to switch off from football for the next while before we get back in.

“I just want to switch off, reflect and look forward to the new contract.”

Great to see he looks like staying.

Some of the stick from Sat has been way OTT.

Fair enough, it was a big error. However, he's part of a team & there were plenty other chances for his teammates to bail him out for the goal. It happens.

He has hardly put a foot wrong for us this season & I look forward to seeing him get even better.
