I'd have liked Armstrong to sign before tonight's game, which I suspect has been a factor in his thinking. He has no great emotional attachment to the club from boyhood like we do, and, being one smart young man, knows a good showing against this underachieving England team could see him hit the financial big time with a rich club in England. It took him a long time to sign for us, IIRC, and it's taking him longer to extend.

I'm starting to feel he's on his way. I wanted us to sign him and he has surpassed my hopes for him. I think he should stay another few years with us but the lure of English riches might be too much. Hope I'm wrong. :(
that's not what we're hearing Torq, although I'll agree that a good showing today might raise his profile. Last I heard we were very close, just dotting and crossing.
tell him we want to renegotiate

knock a couple of grand off the offer
He should play for hee haw for his year aff last year.

Think he was on study leave.

All kidding aside, hopefully, he has already signed the deal and its announced after Brendans honeymoon. :ph43r:

Long arduous season and deep into injury time, in a game he had to run a helluva lot and was probably shattered, he makes a mistake.

Think Al cut the guy some slack.

Probably for the better, can't imagine the top EPL teams are looking at him now.

Tried to play one pass too many - at least on the face of it. Maybe he didn't look up; maybe he thought Griffiths would make a break for their half. It was an unfortunate decision either way.

Agreed. I was surprised we kept going so well in the second half after the energy we used up in the first. Stuart probably didn't see the easy pass but to point fingers is nonsense.

So he made an error 40 yards from goal. What happened thereafter is down to a catalogue of errors. Can't blame one man, but if it helps us keep him, the Stu, you blew it.

You would think it was the sort of thing that is drilled into players heads from when they are young: it's the last minute; don't mess about in your own half; get it clear up the park or out of the park and allow the team to reorganise.

I honestly don't know how he could make that mistake.

But, on the other hand, he equalised in the Invincible Treble Final -so I'll forgive him.

He was poor throughout the game I thought, does us no harm in keeping him though :ph43r:

I thought he had a good game. Tired mind and tired pass for the equaliser. But he was 40 yards out. I blame mulgrew for the goal and

He made a bad error initially for the equaliser but there then followed a catalogue of errors before the ball hit the net. Kane actually took the goal very well, ball dropping over his shouldder and guided in, not easy.

He clears it and none of the other errors are possible.

I know but what I'm saying is the goal was avoidable after his initial error.

Equally, he hoofs it forward, England launch it back down the park and score, and he'll be blamed for not keeping the ball when Scotland were breaking with two men over.

Bad pass, but it was the right decision in terms of relieving pressure. It's the kind of stuff that time and again we applaud european teams for doing against Celtic, in showing game intelligence.

As was mentioned, there was a catalogue of errors that followed, and any competent centre half would have got tighter on Kane.

Tierney is consistently outstanding against high level opposition. Locked onto Oxlade and phasing out his run perfectly, when Armstrong blocks Tierney allowing the attacker to shape and shoot "round the corner" through the gap for the first. The second is illustrative of the insipid laconic arrogance that I associate with British suit salesmen. Couldn't summon one quarter the intensity of his team mates.
