His 'agent' is the PFA.

From what I'm hearing he wants to stay at least one more season with Brendan but has long term ambition to play in England and/or abroad. Sticking point in negotiations is length of contact 'extension'.

I doubt anything will happen till after the England game. His perfimance in that game (if he plays) could change the number of interested parties ...

Agreed if true, but the guy maybe said nothing of the sort. Hopefully sorted soon.

I'd have liked Armstrong to sign before tonight's game, which I suspect has been a factor in his thinking. He has no great emotional attachment to the club from boyhood like we do, and, being one smart young man, knows a good showing against this underachieving England team could see him hit the financial big time with a rich club in England. It took him a long time to sign for us, IIRC, and it's taking him longer to extend.

I'm starting to feel he's on his way. I wanted us to sign him and he has surpassed my hopes for him. I think he should stay another few years with us but the lure of English riches might be too much. Hope I'm wrong. :(

that's not what we're hearing Torq, although I'll agree that a good showing today might raise his profile. Last I heard we were very close, just dotting and crossing.

I'm absolutely certain when he does go it'll be abroad as opposed to England. Bundesliga, Gladbach type level.

Genuinely think signing him up on a new deal would be the most important deal we do this summer along with keeping Dembele.

Jim Spence seems to be indicating that if he was to leave he'd prefer to go to Europe.

Not sure I'd put much stock in a reporters opinion but Spence has always had good connections with current/former Dundee United players.

Armstrong himself said when he was at Dundee United that he fancied playing in Germany one day
