88 mins, Armstrong, with Boyata and Jozo in the box takes a short corner. He's like a rabbit caught in the headlights playing for Celtic, has not got the mentality to play for us.

Double post :ffs:

 Armstrong was utter garbage, like he has been for a while now. McGregor was better than him tonight, far better.
He's been garbage all season, I don't deny that. I just don't see why he's the only one that's copping the criticism when they've all been rotten all season and all were tonight.

Armstrong's a player that would do much better in a side that actually plays decent football. We aren't one of those sides. Hence why criticism is shampoo like "he hid" because folk perceive his ineffectiveness to be cowardice when really we're just not a side that allows player like that to flourish.

Ryan Christie's a brilliant wee player. Watch him when he comes here. I guarantee the same shampoo is spouted about him too.
I think he'd do well in a team set up to counter attack.

That's not Celtic, at least not in home matches/ domestic football.

He's not that great technically; no Petrov, never mind a Collins/McStay/Lubo.

Cannot believe that stupidity at the end there. Was poor all night but cost us and sold Allan with a daft decision at the end.

He's a terrible player.

His touch is pretty poor.
He doesn't have a trick or quick feet even the way Rogic does (who is no great shakes either)
He has zero pace.
He isn't strong in the tackle at all.
His passing is comparable to most SPFL midfielders, nothing special.
He doesn't time runs into the box from the middle, nor beyond a fullback when playing wide.
He seldom even makes himself available for a pass and when he does he can't wait to get rid of it.
He just generally ghosts along in games.

I find it criminal that a guy playing in midfield, and that's anywhere in the 5 midfield positions, can allow a game to completely pass him by. If he's playing wide and he's not seeing the ball, then go in and demand it.

I imagine he'll be here for a while and have games / short spells where he shows some promise, but ultimately he'll never develop into the sort of player we hoped.

About four years ago, a Dundee Utd fan in my work told me Armstrong would improve Celtic's midfield. I'd barely heard of him at that point but I started to watch out for him in games and he's done loads of things which have impressed me (both at Dundee Utd and Celtic). But like so many players, he seems to lack something to push on and make the most of his talent. I don't know if it's a lack of courage, personality or what. But he seems happy to be on the fringes of things when he should be grabbing games by the scruff of the neck.

I actually thought he was decent in spells last night. Quick passing led to the first goal and he was very good in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Our whole midfield disappeared for long spells in the middle of both halves though, none of them are tough enough to go and win the ball back.

Thought he was dreadful last night. Don't think he can cope with the physical demands of playing for us. Mackay-Steven and Ciftci fall into that category too.

He shouldn't be allowed to take any more set-pieces. Woeful delivery time and time again.

I thought as the game went on he started to hide, either due to lack of fitness or confidence.

Disappointing that he hasn't progressed from last season.

He had a few decent moments last night but that pass to Allan was monumentally daft. What a disappointment he's been this season.

When he came in he looked good in patches but has regressed badly from there.
