Sorry but I have no sympathy for anyone who couldn't manage those type of finances to leave them living a comfortable life and having never worked a day in their life either.
To your point - Craig Gordon could've earned more by simply moving to Chelsea to sit on his arse. He chose to stay partly because his family is settled here and partly due to his desire to play first team football.

The easy option would've been to chase the money; but watching his reaction to big Tom's goal on Saturday - he put football first because it clearly makes him happy.

He didn't choose to stay. Celtic didn't accept any bid from Chelsea nor did they let Gordon speak to them.

Always find these type of threads interesting in terms of they always seem far more popular with the "he`s going" than "he`s staying" brigade...

Just as well Dembele was injured for the last wee while eh.
There's 'brigades'? :suspect:

What about the: 'I'm pretty sure he's staying but you never know what's around the corner' brigade?

It wouldn't, but if you want to the live the life of an elite footballer £25k a week isn't that much either.

A bit simplistic but:

Earning £25k and you take home £15k. Spend half and save half, £7.5k saved a week for ten years = £4m.

More than enough for you and me, but not lasting you that long if you've got a lifestyle that needs £30k a month to sustain.
Sorry but I have no sympathy for anyone who couldn't manage those type of finances to leave them living a comfortable life and having never worked a day in their life either.
I'm not saying Armstrong or anyone else deserves any sympathy.

£25k a week seems like hunners of money to the man on the street, but I'd bet it doesn't seem like that much to someone who could earn £50k a week if they wanted to.

I've a horrible feeling he will go. Which will be a massive disappointment given the season he has had . 17 goals from the middle and probably the most improved footballer over the past 12 months . I'm praying he signs and stays

Pretty sure Scott Brown could have if he wanted.

He could've turned down a new contract, and either Celtic would either sell him in summer 2017, or let him walk on a free transfer in summer 2018.

I'm sure I read that he had his final exams the first week in June, so I really wouldn't expect to hear anything until they were finished. I'm not that concerned yet - I still think he'll sign.

Fair enough BR may not be happy but are his demands reasonable? He's been excellent since the end of last year but he's still got something to prove.
