He's not going to get a bigger club than us. He's obviously not daft and will realise that.
If he's not daft it's not a bigger club he'll be looking for it's a richer club.
Playing in the CL, winning trophies and playing regularly, while hardly being poor, would be the sensible option.

Agreed but if he goes it will be because of money.

Heard his Da was his agent and he is playing
hardball .
Yes; his Da is to all intents and purposes his 'agent'/ advisor. He negotiated his moves from the Caley youth team to Dundee United and to Celtic.

I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he's holding out for better wages. 'Apparently' he already knocked the first offer back.

Even diddy PL clubs can offer much. much more than Celtic are willing to pay.

It wouldn't be a huge shock if he moved on this summer. Disappointing, of course, but not shocking.

I have a feeling he will leave as well, head turned by the 'best league in the world' pish, and end up somewhere like west brom or some other shampooe of that ilk on 40 or 50 grand a week, and never wins anything else in his career

Teams like WBA, Watford, Burnley, etc. play dreadful, route one football. He would learn nothing. What a waste.....

Come on, Stuart - do the right thing

Jeez, there's a lot of panic on here. Folk telling him he'll never win anything again etc. etc.

He'll sign a new contract, no doubt.

He seems a very determined guy.

He might fancy playing at a higher level week in week out.

I think he's just holding out for more money and will sign with us as soon as we offer it

Earning as much money as you can from a very short career is the sensible option. Staying with Celtic (or any other club) when you could double your wages elsewhere is the exact opposite of sensible.

Staying with Celtic and winning trophies plus the opportunity of CL football wouldn't leave Stuart or anyone else a poor boy at the end of their career.

It wouldn't, but if you want to the live the life of an elite footballer £25k a week isn't that much either.

A bit simplistic but:

Earning £25k and you take home £15k. Spend half and save half, £7.5k saved a week for ten years = £4m.

More than enough for you and me, but not lasting you that long if you've got a lifestyle that needs £30k a month to sustain.

Sorry but I have no sympathy for anyone who couldn't manage those type of finances to leave them living a comfortable life and having never worked a day in their life either.

Always find these type of threads interesting in terms of they always seem far more popular with the "he`s going" than "he`s staying" brigade...

Just as well Dembele was injured for the last wee while eh.

We all want him to stay. I hope he stays. I'd be gutted if he ended up at Bournemouth or Swansea or any of the rest of the also rans down there.

To your point - Craig Gordon could've earned more by simply moving to Chelsea to sit on his arse. He chose to stay partly because his family is settled here and partly due to his desire to play first team football.

The easy option would've been to chase the money; but watching his reaction to big Tom's goal on Saturday - he put football first because it clearly makes him happy.
