I was told this would probably be sorted a couple of weeks back but I'm not too surprised it's turned in to a saga. The fly in the ointment as things stand. I think we've done pretty well by him as a club and would like to see him give more back before realising his ambitions of playing down South, both on the park and ensuring we get a decent return for handing him a platform to improve, allowing for some fairly dismal performances in the past. He can be a great player but at twenty five he's hardly set the earth alight up until last season so there's no guarantees SA will go elsewhere and find the same belief in him and set up he thrived on of late. His personality and demeanour came on leaps and bounds under Brendan but he cut a pitiful figure at times under Ronny and I'd think another year or two of feel good football at Celtic would be beneficial for his next step. |

Can't see a big team being tempted and can't see him leaving for a 'smaller' team. Hopefully Sorted soon. |

One good game against Engurland and the EPL teams will be looking at him seriously. Love SA to stay but if he wanted to move I could see him better suited in Germany rather than warming a bench at Stoke or Newcastle. Still got quite a bit of a career to go and the decision now is stay with us and win or go and get sorted financially in mid EPL boredom |

This time last year Armstrong would have been lucky to get a mid-table Championship side bidding for him. Now, thanks to the manager, he could pick anyone of about a dozen Premiership teams who'd be falling over themselves to sign him. Realistically though how good is he likely to be for another club? We're currently set up in a way that allows him to thrive, I'm not sure he'd get that elsewhere. |

I think he's a fantastic player, but nobody from the EPL top 6 is gonna be signing him, he'd end up going the way of Petrov. He'll be a standout player for someone like Swansea |

We were in the exact same scenario with Rogic this time last year, and that got sorted quite out of the blue. Give the board their due, they have been very good over the past few years in getting the players we want to keep tied down when it matters. I expect this to go to the same way. |

Would be surprised if he didn't sign a new deal. He was a disappointment last year and would be surprised if he could get a decent move out of one good year in the SPFL. |

Was speaking last week to a source who knows his agent that he is looking for a move to the EPL but only to a top 6 club. |

I'd say at this point it's in the balance. When he signed I must admit I was a little surprised at it being a three and a half year deal unlike GMS who signed a four and a half year contract. At the time it smacked of someone who saw their future elsewhere. I think he's waiting to see what the Summer brings in. |

He'd be foolish to leave now - BR has certainly had an effect on his game which i dont see him getting elsewhere - First team football, CL football and playing in a settled team are things he wouldnt get even if he managed to get a top 6 team I also think the hes signed and the club are just waiting on a good news day to announce it Edited by baldecrunch, 31 May 2017, 06:12 PM.

He's not going to get a bigger club than us. He's obviously not daft and will realise that. |
