He seems to have gained confidence in himself this season.
Last season he looked very good in some games, scoring goals and anonymous in others, or his touch seemed to be poor.

This season he chases back and never hides, I think he just believes he can make a difference.
He is also a very good finisher
Turned into a cracking player

Getting on a bit

He was outstanding yesterday. Lost count the number of times he took the ball facing our own goal, tightly marked, only to get us going forward - especially in the second half. One of our most important players and a new contract will be a priority.

I've got this horrible feeling he sees himself down south next season. Why else wouldnt you sign when the contracts there?

He is what 25 now? He may think if he signs another contract then it will be another 2 years here before he gets a shot at the Epl or abroad. By then he may be thinking he only has about 3 or 4 years at the top.

They guy is smart, maybe him not declining the contract on offer, was his way of avoiding the whole situation and not de railing the season or creating any unnecessary controversy.

He's a huge footballer for us just now. An absolute colossus when he's running the show (which is pretty much every game nowadays) because he's got everything in his locker; in and around either box he's wonderful and has become the player who I feel the most comfortable having the ball out of the entire team. Clearly has game intelligence beyond almost everyone else in Scotland and would be a genuine commodity anywhere in the world - I just hope nobody else notices...

His turning with back to goal was unbelievable. Something Barry (8) used to do quite well, but Armstrong is more on Redondo's level, and will achieve a lot at Celtic when he signs his new contract. How can he be that aware of his surroundings all the time?

This quote from yesterday's Herald makes me feel a bit better:

Rodgers said: “I’m sure it will get tied up. We put it off about ten days ago because I didn’t want it to effect the preparation for this game. But hopefully that can be done afterwards. Stuart in the second half really showed his power, speed and quality and running ability.”

I think he will sign a new deal. I think he will fancy another shot of European football (CL or Europa) and then if his performances are consistent to that of this season he will move on end of next season. I think hes always talked about playing down south and also abroad. Just when the time comes when he decides to go we just need to make sure we get the right transfer fee!

Fingers crossed. There's such a good feeling surrounding the club right now, I can't see many players being in a rush to leave unless it's a top English club. I know I'm biased, but if it was me I'd want to stay for the ten.

Me too. I think he respects Brendan and will hang around for as long as he does.

If I'm Armstrong and I'm 25, I'm thinking two more good seasons at Celtic then move abroad. eff England.

Does KDS have an "in the know" posters?
I know there was one a while ago, that's stopped posting rumours/overheard titles bits as he got a few wrong.
But surely someone must've heard something about Stu's contract & I don't mean taxi driver stuff.

There is a feel good factor there that hasn't been seen for a few seasons. Totally agree don't see any of the key players going (apart from Roberts loan deal ending). Young squad only getting better working under a top quality coach, some of them will move, its only natural especially when a team can treble his wage. But just now i see many of them still a bit off the finished article. Rodgers and Celtic are perfect fit for them. We just have to ensure we get top dollar for them when they choose to go! Haha i would be the same, but sadly the likes of Moussa, Rogic and Jozo werent born Celtic fans like us!

Getting noticed in the reserves

I think he came to Celtic not fully understanding the club, maybe even not even liking the club and that's why he always thought the EPL or abroad was for him.

Now I reckon he and every other player in that team idolise Brown and must respect his decision to stay with us and what he's achieved, so I'm very hopeful that will rub off on him.

He cannae leave , he's got his own song now ffs
I was crediting the Bhoys for making up a song to the tune of Enola Gay from the orechastral manoeuvres in the dark. Which was very impressive.

I may be doing them a disservice here but also I've been told that Scooter done a version of this.

If that's the case I must say thanks to Scooter as their covers helped spark 2 brilliant Celtic Tunes this season.
