I have absolutely no fear that Brendan will ensure that whatever terms having been offered to Armstrong up till now, will be improved sufficiently to persuade Armstrong to commit to Celtic for the foreseeable....and that will include his ain personal hairdresser if he wants one.

Let's face it, to purchase a player like Armstrong right now and make the impact that he is, would cost Celtic more more than to weigh him in with an improvement on the contract he currently has.

The bhoy's going no where :)

Armstrong's value has shot up in the last few months and he will be being watched by EPL and European clubs. We now have a few players worth serious money but hopefully we can keep them all for at least another season. We'll need to if we're going to make a decent fist of it in the CL next season, not to mention keeping BR motivated to stay with us for the next few years.

Need to get this a guy a new deal. Let him loose in next season's CL. Man Utd can cough up about £20m next summer or the one after.

He's making great strides, but I don't see that he's done anything yet to see is at risk of losing him.

Not that he isn't capable of it, but I just don't think he's done it at a level that will catch the attention of anyone coming in with a serious bid that would entice him to move or us to sell.

Agreed. His form this season might make a scout sit up and keep an eye on him but he's to be consistent and step up in Europe before they lump on I'd think.
I'm just enjoying his renaissance at the moment.

There was a cqn article I posted on this thread the other night saying he still hasn't accepted the contract offer we offered him months ago. The article suggested he feels he's worth more and wants to stay. He will punted if he doesn't with an extension cos that's what we do these days

I really like him as a player, and putting our offer to one side, I don't think he's ready for a move from us yet. It won't be a good career move.

I'm not sure if he has hos sights set on a move anyway. Obviously has one eye on a career away from the game with his studies and is only this season fulfilling the potential he showed at Dundee United.

Most things post towards him staying put.

He's on a different level.

Reminds of VVD in the sense that it looks effortless for him.

I think he's worth a better contract than he was offered a few months ago to be fair. I agree with him.

Let's not get carried away here - I mean, I like the look of him a lot but he's only really had 7 good months for us so let's see if he can sustain that.

If he has a year left, then I reckon he'll be happy to see that out & then move on after continuing to improve...or we can give him an improved offer & he'll be just as likely to stay for 3 or 4 years.

With this one, I'd say it's up to us.
Let him leave for free, or deal him in for what he's probably worth. I bet Gordon, Dembele, Sinclair & Brown are all on considerably more than we've offered him.
Armstrong consistently gets awarded motm, now including international games - he's certainly worth an improved contract & I reckon he'll get one & sign it.

I think the man who runs our club would rather dip his balls in acid than allow anything like that to even come close to happening.

We should be giving him a further 3 years and if he continues to improve his game, we will have a 10m player on our hands.
Lawell can then cash in in a season or 2.
What I don't want, is a scenario were we have to let him go 6 months before his contracts up for less than his worth.

He'll likely renew his contract. Brendan his clearly been a massive factor in turning his career around and this is only season 1 / phase 1 of BR's ambition. Armstrong will at least want to see it through for another 2 years and then possibly look at a move down south.
