Really impressed and turning into the player I hoped he would. He always wants to be involved and tries to take games by the scruff of its neck.

He had a very good game. Isn't afraid to shoot from anywhere if it's on. Scored one and close with others. Actually he had most of our close chances yesterday. The kind of midfielder we need.

Reminds me of a more cultured and athletic Craig Burley (from the 97/98 season)

Unlucky not to get four goals yesterday. He was our biggest threat

Thought the game was passing him by more than others(if that's possible) in the first 20 minutes or so. After that though he was the best player in the outfield 10.

Gutted when he went off, you could see the missing link almost immediately.

I'm thinking more of a dynamic German style midfielder from the 80's or 90's who could score goals, create and had a bit of dig about him. :rocker:

The lack of any agreed new contract for him is growing more conspicuous by the day.

Free to talk pre-contracts with any other clubs in less than 10 months.

Goals in Glasgow derbies and international call ups tend to be the "showiest" symbols of progress to those with deeper pockets.

A new contract for him should be a priority.

If he wants to stay long term, he's an ideal replacement for Brown in that box to box role, if he doesn't, he could still sign an extension and get a move down south after another good season next year.

Are we just on freefall unending doom mode now?

He was one of the few positives from yesterday. I don't think we need to find a negative angle for everything

Some player and deserving of all the plaudits in this thread (at least the last 4 months).

The power and accuracy he generated from his shot yesterday was incredible. Few players have the technical ability to get that strike away so quickly. His left leg barely moved back to wind up and strike the ball so ferociously.

He's becoming a more and more cultured player as the season progresses. Long may it continue.

He reminds me of a young, energetic Enzo Scifo, only not as good. But plays the same way.

IMO he has been our most important player for a few months now. We need to get him a new contract.

The best player on the pitch at the weekend and the most industrious of all of our players at the moment. Hopefully a central part of securing the 10.
