If there's one player tonight that deserves a new deal it is him

Often said but it's really incredible to compare Armstrong this season from last season.

Heartless again tonight. A haircut in a football shirt.

The frustrating thing is that he can definitely play football. He's just got no guts.

Brilliant player since he got his belief back. Was brilliant in his first few months at the club and has easily bettered that form this season. Turning into the midfielder I thought we'd got when he signed, and a fair bit more. Delighted for him. Looked a real casualty from the madness of last season but reborn entirely.

Don't beat yourself up, 12 months ago it was very hard to argue against that assessment.

He is so sharp. So many times he looks 2nd fav to get to a ball and then he nips in and wins it. What a player. If he can still go up another level or 2 under Rodgers he is going to be sensational

Earlier this season I called him a handsome Pearson.

I was wrong. Pearson was far better.

When Beinsport France were at Celtic Park for the Barcelona game, the Spanish football pundit was raving on Stuart Armstrong. It says a lot about Armstrong's quality.

Called it wrong with this guy earlier in the season. Thought he was too slack in possession, but massive improvement.
You didn't call it wrong at the start of the season, he was exactly that.

Up until October I didn't think he was as improved as people were making out on here and in the press. Yes he improved from the season previous, but for me he was still hitting too many slack/loose passes or running into the opposition players too often and losing possession.

One of the first names on the team sheet now and deserves it. He looks a real player.

I really don't know how Eboue will get into this midfield. Maybe give Brown a bit of a rest once the leagues won as he won't get the rest in the Summer if he continues with his international career.

His touch when running onto the ball if effing beautiful. I don't think there's anyone else in the team that carries it like him, even Sinclar and Rogic. He's just an excellent footballer and he's obviously got the belief to be brave. Great to see.

Probably at Bitton's expense. I'm more interested in how Rogic will get back in if Armstrong continues to impress

Was watching the highlights of the game against the zombies at Ibrox.

For the winning goal, the move starts with Armstrong with the ball in the middle of the park. The Armstrong of old would have probably opted for the easy 5 yard square pass to a teammate, but instead he lifts his head and threads a difficult pass out to Roberts on the wing. Then, instead of standing around admiring said pass, he makes the run in behind the hun defence and receives the return pass from Roberts, plays another cracking ball across goal to Sinclair (without even looking) and the rest is history.

This for me sums up how far he’s come this season. He’s taking responsibility and making things happen. He’s been excellent :worthy:

Eboue and Rogic will simply have to prove to Rodgers that they're better options. That means playing better than guys who are currently playing very well, so the team will be stronger overall. When everyone's fit and ready to play we'll have some really strong competition in the middle of the park with no room for complacency from any of them.

He is central to everything that we are trying to achieve as a club. What a player he is developing into.

If you watch carefully he does have a look way before the pass has reached him and then fires it perfectly without looking across for sinclair to tap in. Amazing awareness.
