Just saw him walking through the town with his girlfriend. She looked fit enough for both of them.

He was walking fine but then he had to stop, so Stuart Armstrong appeared and walked her the rest of the way.

His ability is undoubted but frustrates me so much at times. He takes far too many touches at times but can make the game look so easy too.

I'm wondering if Commons actually the ideal player to come on and relieve him for the final 30-35 mins against these better opponents? Whilst he has his well documented short comings I think he's better at retaining the ball and beating men than Armstrong. He has a reputation for being lazy but he's not unable to play the pressing game and he's gotten a few assists and goals by charging down and robbing defenders. It was just striking how much influence we lost on the game once Armstrong came on. I know we need to address this in the transfer market but I think he might actually be the better short term option, Stuart has given us nothing since the Rangers game.

He's a talented player but talent alone is not enough. His fitness level is unacceptable and his lack of stamina actually hurts the team at times. He was playing so well last night, it would have been massive for us if he could have played the full 90mins. But, not for the first time, he couldn't. He was spent after an hour. Our midfield never looked the same after Rogic went off and Armstrong came on.

I don't know how quickly this problem can be fixed, or if it can be fixed at all, but if something can be done then it needs to be done urgently. Rogic has the potential to be a key player for us and he also has the potential to be worth a lot of money to Celtic. If the guy can't play for more than hour then he will never be either. I hope the people at the club who are responsible for players conditioning can find the answer to this riddle. We'll have a proper player on our hands if they can.
couldn't agree more with this.

I get stick on here for my criticism of Rogic but there is really no excuse for a 23 year old not to be able to last 90 minutes.

Great on the ball needs serious work on his off the ball contribution to the team. He will always be great for us domestically.

saying this i thought he was great for 45 minutes last night barring 1 or 2 moments
I think there is an excuse for him though.

He was only picked up by a professional club aged 19/20 and has been injured for most of the last two seasons.

When we first signed him, he could barely manage a half in the SPFL and was getting shrugged off the ball. His physicality and fitness has improved immeasurably since then.

Champions League is another step up in intensity. We need to build him up. He's never going to be a Broony but if we can get a good 70-odd minutes of him at this level he'll be doing just fine.

Think I might actually cry if Commons comes on for Rogic against a top side like last night or against Barca.

I think he has more to offer than Armstrong, was he not left out of the CL squad though?

And Kris hasn't given us anything for nigh on three years.

Must be incredible difficult to work on stamina during the season. To actually concentrate on that one aspect would be difficult for Tom and the club. I think we will see the Aussie Ardiles playing a lot longer during SPL matches.

Being able to play for 70 minutes will not be doing just fine.

I appreciate the reasons why, right now, his fitness isn't where it should be, that's fair enough, but like any other player, it will be totally unacceptable if he doesn't get to a level of fitness where he can play the full game without becoming fatigued - regardless of who we are playing.

Would Larsson have been better if he hadn't smoked?
How do you improve perfection?

He'd have been even fitter if he didn't smoke, like everyone else.
I saw Henrik "smoking" once in a bar on Queen Street. He was smoking the way you do when you are 12. I think Bill Clinton inhaled more than Henrik ever did.

Rogic was wonderful in the first half, turning and getting at them. There was no chance of us scoring again after he went off.
