Total hyperbole I know but the way he plays reminds me so much of Zidane. He's not anywhere near the bold Zizou's level yet of course, and if he can't get his stamina sorted out he never will be, but damn he's a seriously talented player.

I know exactly what you mean. I think it's the way he rolls players and then drives.

Couple of moments tonight when he turned and strolled forward into space...Zidane-like

I was thinking if Rodgers had managed to buy that creative midfielder he was after then he could have brought him on for Rogic and we maybe could have created a couple more chances. All hypothetical though and Tam was great tonight.

We were already getting over ran before Rogic went off.

He was absolutely great for 35-40 mins and useless after that.

That's exactly what it is, he has an amazing ability to send defenders the wrong way and find himself in space. We need to get the best sports scientists money can buy in to sort his stamina out, because it really is the only thing holding him back at the moment.

Doesn't have the stamina for that level unfortunately. Shame cos he is a cracking player.

Yip in the.match thread I noticed that trend growing arms and legs.

He was out of the game 2nd half, hardly done a thing. Sub was required, that wasnt the reason City ended up on top the last 30.

Though defensivly he was poor at.times tonight in the first half. Watching city players 5 yards from him walking with the ball. Should have helped his midfield team mates out a little more with the pressing but I get he's a sort.of luxury player when it comes to.defending.

Fantastic 45 though attacking wise.

We have to remember that this guy is a couple years behind where he should be given his unorthodox route into professional football. On top of that, he's missed a lot of football through injury over the last few years.

He won't have played in a match of that intensity before, but before he blew up around the 50 minute mark he was one of the best players on the pitch. He has the footballing ability and intelligence. His physicality is improving all the time - he is much stronger than he was even last year. We need to slowly build up his ability to play 70/80/90 minutes at Champions League level. He can get there.

For a guy who won a competition, he's doing bloody great.

Tom Rogic is a certified baller.

If he can get his fitness levels to the point where he can perform at the same intensity for 75-80 minutes then we'll be looking at another 15m player.

Great in the first half, popping up in awkward areas and holding onto possession in a way no one else in the team can. If we can find another player like him to sub with him...

Apart from all the usual observations about his stamina etc. If he can learn when to play it first time and when to beat someone with his roll it`ll make a difference to his effectiveness going forward. Lovely player and not outclassed by anyone tonight when he was fit for it.

I think that will be his next type of signing.

A creative maverick to rotate with Rogic and likely a quality midfielder to arguably replace Bitton or at least give him a kick up the arse like he's done with Gordon.

He wasn't in a professional system until 19, it took a reality tv show to get him a deal. That's so many years of base fitness in proper training, playing game after game at increasing levels of ability and intensity he didn't get. If he was a natural athlete like say Brown then he'd maybe be able to make it up, but clearly his athletic gifts are only so-so at best, so it's a bit of a challenge.

It's not just the case of working hard in training, players by and large do these days, he's got a base training deficit to make up (he's been hamstrung in recent years with not having a fixed place in the side and with niggling injuries).

People underestimate just how quick professional football can be.
