Was at the game tonight and Rogic strolled through the match in midfield. Neither goal was a great finish but he was there and controlled the game in midfield. Well done son
What position does he play for the national team?

Get him properly fit and then give him options up front with players running into space....he has the ability to find them or create an opening himself. Problem we have is when we don't have the ball, he lacks the pace to get it back or the discipline to defend.

I like him. Slow, but keeps things ticking along nicely, retains possession and makes the right decision most of the time.

He was as close to CAM as they had. He floated left to right though. Good display

He got about 20 off the bench last night in Dushanbe. Coach said before the game that he was being rested because he hadn't played 2 games within a week for a long time. Glad to see Australia looking after him and bringing him back in slowly as well. Also means he should be right for at least the bench against the Sheep on Saturday.

Good stuff. He's obviously talented and has played eff all proper football for someone of his age but taking it slowly with him is the way to go. Don't know if he'll make it with us but I like him :)

He has the same posture and style as Riquelme - obviously nowhere near that good, but certainly offers us a different option.

Do we think he's better suited as a deep lying playmaker or a more advanced behind the strikers role...?

I'd say deep lying as it gives him a little more time.

Last season it was Bitton, Griffiths and Johansen. I think Rogic will be this season's success story. He has he attributes to a great player.

Hope you're right. I get the impression that all the players genuinely like him too which helps, you can see it in the way they react when he scores.

If pace is an issue, maybe he could try and develop into the Kroos/Modric/Pirlo role? Obviously not at that level but would be great to have someone who could dictate play from deep.

Pace didn't hurt Riquelme or Zidane playing in advanced roles, but the boy has the talent to play just about anywhere in midfield. Really excited for him this season.

To hark back to John Collins, it seems that it's speed of thought that is important. No point being a roadrunner if you have birdseed for brains.

I hope Tom can stay injury free and kick on in his development this season.

With the way Brown's been playing recently would it be that crazy to play Bitton and Rogic as the central midfielders?

Nah, will never happen.

You're right, it won't. I think he has the right attributes with the ball at his feet to play in central midfield but I'd be worried about what he offers defensively. Might work if we played with an out and out defensive midfielder, holding player, whatever you want to call it.

He surprised me playing deeper the other week, didn't think he was up to it so soon after being out so long. It'll take some work to build a bit more defensive ability into him, but he's a reasonably quick learner, so he might get the positional stuff down pretty quickly.
