I don't think Tom fits into the pressing style that Brendan wants and as such he wont feature much unless he can add athleticism to his technical ability.

While I agree about his athleticism I'd still have him in the team.

Besides his creativity I like the fact that he is quite strong and doesn't get brushed off the ball like a small child. I lost count last night when that happened with Armstrong, McGregor and Johansen last night.

.......all of which is a pity as I like the idea of a Rogic type player who has the footwork, skill and good shot to do something in a game that Brown, McGregor, Johansson and Armstrong et al. can't do. He hasn't the all out ability of a Moravcik but he is the nearest thing we have got.

He has done well in an Australian shirt recently (albeit against lesser international teams) and they consider him highly. It would be great if we could find a place for him in a no.10 role where he would be complemented by at least 2 fellow midfielders who could defend as well as pass forward.

Didn't Rogic turn professional surprisingly late in his career? Won a competition when he was 19 or something. He's probably never going to have the athletic ability of someone trained at a professional club from early teenage years. Such natural talent that he is worth trying to find a role for, though.

I'm a fan of Rogic but i don't think a fully commited pressing style can afford to have any passengers. Every player from the middle to front has to predss like wild dogs and if one player isn't fulfilling his pressing commitments then the system falls apart. I'd imagine that this is what Brendan Rodgers is trying to get across to Tom Rogic.

If we were a team that doesn't expect to see much off the ball and were committed to playing on the counter then Tom Rogic would be our Riquelme figure, the man we give the ball to to make things happen, with others doing his running for him but we aren't that kind of team.

I hope he can work on that side of his game because he is very pleasing on the eye when he has the ball and he is still young enough to work on improving the physical side of his game.

I like him and think he should be playing right now ahead of the likes of Mcgregor and Armstrong. He will be signing a new deal shortly i reckon.

Happy with that. He's not going to start every game but will make a massive contribution over a full season.
