Came out on the Website and said he wants to sign a new contract

TOM Rogic has put the record straight following a newspaper report claimed he was set to reject a new contract with Celtic and could be on his way out of the club.
Speaking to the official Celtic website, the Australian internationalist said: “I know there was a story today suggesting that I want to leave Celtic. This is simply not the case at all.
“I am really enjoying my time at Celtic and I am proud to be part of such a great football club.
“I want to extend my contract with Celtic. I am speaking to the Club just now and hopefully this will be agreed very soon.”
Rogic has returned to the Celtic squad this season following a lengthy injury lay-off, and the 23-year-old has been in impressive form, scoring seven goals so far in the campaign.

We have too many players for the same position. It's just madness the way we have accumulated "No. 10's", and as a result, we have a lot of unhappy players who are naturally looking to go elsewhere for more playing time. It really is a bit of a mess created by management. Tom Rogic is a good player with huge potential, but needs regular playing time. I wouldn't like to see him go, but wouldn't blame him considering how Delia is handling the team selection.

We do need to trim that area of the squad down, absolutely no doubt but Tom Rogic is the very last one of those that should be moved on, he's getting games to be fair, he's started 21 and been a sub twice in 27 League games this Season, thats including the couple he's been injured, the boy has had plenty of opportunity this term and for me he's taken it

I agree, we've spent a fair amount of time (and money obviously) getting Rogic to where he is just now, we should be tying him up.

Rogic is definitely one we should be trying to keep. FFS we gave Calum McGregor a five year contract after about twenty minutes first team action. Rogic is talented and should be a first choice when fit. Hope he commits for a few years.

Rogic is one of only a few players at the club that I would be upset about losing.

Excellent news and excellent turn around.

Griffiths is clearly POTY but Rogic has been the most fun to watch in a sea of mediocrity. Great turnaround.

Thank eff. Don't think my current Lawwell hatred levels could have handled this.

A guy with great potential who will be on relative peanuts. There's plenty others in that position who deserved punted based on this seasons form.

I think he's technically a pretty good player, but it's time for him to really up his game.

Next season is a really important one for him. Needs to prove he can contribute Commons-like levels of assists / goals.

Apart from one season, Commons record for goals usually just breaks into double figures and he contributes roughly the same for assists. Compare that to Rogic this season who has 5 assists and 6 goals so far. If he gets a run in the team till the end of the season, I could see him approach double figures. Which given where he was 2 years ago is a good return.

I too would like to see him improve further but I don't think we should compare him to commons as they are different players. Rogic is far more mobile for a start!

Commons has been a good servant for the club but one season aside where he scored 27 goals, his return has been decent, no more, no less. I often think that one season clouds peoples judgement.

Says it all about how poor a team we are that Rogic is seen as one of our best players now. Never been convinced, Hes technically sound but tends to hide like a few in the side when the chips are down

Called up to the Australian squad for matches in late March. Both games are thankfully in Australia (Adelaide and Sydney).
