Australia didn't have anyone remotely in sync with his style of play or decision making, meaning all of his good work was largely for nothing.

Any chance of him retiring from international football? Would be great for us and he seems under appreciated in the national team.

3 weeks until the day we play our 1rst competitive game, away in Armenia - maybe make it back for the home game in 4 weeks?
Be good to get a solid away leg result & give Tam an extra week, same with Lustig.

ATM they are both starters in our best 11, but missing our pre-season.

Don't suppose they'll be back for Austria at all - but they're both among the longest serving players at the Club, so no real worries.

They'll both have come back better off for the experience of a WC, given a few weeks off & they should slot right back in again.

Tom Rogic is by far and away Australia's most talented player but for some reason Aaron Mooy thinks it is him. After seeing Mooy's performances at the World Cup it makes me appreciate Scott Brown even more as omeone who does what the team needs him to do but doesn't have the ego that demands to be front and centre at every set play or kid on that he is the playmaker of the team.

This would be a perfect scenario

He will do, playing for behemoths like Huddersfield.

Along with Mooy he's considered the best player by Australians, generally.

Didn't see the Aussie game. How did the big Antipodean Adonis perform?
Created countless of oppurtunities for a cut back with his through balls. Only aussie player looking likely to create anything, played well, should not have subbed off.
Was glad he came off - game was gone, and he returns to Paradise uninjured. Delighted we sorted the contract before we left, or the papers would be chattering incessantly about him moving on.

Spot on. Some pundits in Australia seem to think he's the better player just because he's playing in the EPL. It's for Huddersfield, FFS.

Yep, I reckon Rogic missed having Broony and Ntcham behind him after seeing how that midfield played. They'd have created a lot more opportunities if Scott and Oli were playing.

From my (albeit limited) viewing Mooy looked useful at the WC. I'd agree he shouldn't be anywhere near a set piece when Rogic is on the field, but I think Rogic should be on them at Celtic and he rarely is.

We really need to work on our set pieces for next season. They have been dreadful.

Griffiths is back.

I do feel tactically our set pieces haven't been as good as maybe our recent peak with Lennon. Lots of great movement by Wanyama and VVD in the box, plus a belter from Mulgrew at CP against the dark side that was clearly straight off the training field.

They absolutely are, but watching this WC makes me wonder if we are much worse than any other teams in terms of conversions rates from corners to goals. Everyone seems pish at them nowadays.

This. It's concerning that it's clearly not been addressed in training.
