I always felt rogic fell into the category of 'good game shampoo game' but if he can keep this form up he'll be a big player for us this season
At times he is sublime then at other times ponderous and easily dispossessed. Given his size and frame he seems to be muscled off the ball easily. I don't think he's a week in week out starter but he's become a very useful member of the squad.

Great big player.

I don't think him and Commons in the same team is beneficial long term. We lack width because both want to play in the middle. Today Lustig had nobody in front of him on so many occasions.

If given the choice between the two it's Tam every day
We were very good through the middle today with both of them. Probably a luxury we cannot afford in some games but I see no reason why they both couldn't play again at home.

Bounced back well from a terrible performance at Fir Park. Had a great influence on the game on Wednesday night and continued that today. Has a great first touch which generally gives him a bit of space and time on the ball.

Love being able to watch a player who can control a ball and pick little passes. A real rare thing in Scotland.

He seems to be off balance a lot of times especially when turning at pace

Anyone explain the apparent turnaround from no hope to our new hope? Very pleased he is kicking on - just a wee bit baffled

I have always believed, for the most part, it's possible to tell very early on whether someone is a player or not. It was obvious within 45 minutes that Boruc was special, that Van Dijk was quality. By the same token it was obvious Bangura was a dud, as was Amido Balde. There is the odd time when players completely turn it around - Lustig was one I thought was a poor signing who completely proved me wrong. But in Rogic's case I honestly can't remember such a turnaround. He has gone from a piece of dead wood to someone who is potentially the best player in the team. Incredible, really.

He looked a player at the very start of his career with us, lost his way, got a really bad injury, but certainly showed there was a good footballer waiting to happen.

Great credit to him he has come through it all.

Cheers folks. It is great credit to him.

Now Stan, he possessed special qualities as a kid. Came to Celtic, didn't bed in - language barrier etc. Was played out of position. Many thought he was a lost cause. Bear with me here, as I'm on my phone, half asleep and going by (shoddy) memory.. Was it MON who played him where he excelled? Eventually settled and went on to be a star for us. Slightly going against what Murph said (though I generally agree with it). Reminded me a wee bit of big Tom's situation. (Though I doubt he worked in a burger van  ).

Getting quietly excited about this guy. There really looks like a player in there that can make things happen and change games. A stick on to start against Molde on Thursday.

His first touch reminds me of Zidane at times, the way he just pulls any ball out of the air with his big toe :worthy:

He always looked a footballer. Only questions were about his mentality.

Liked the look of him from the very beginning to :)

Coming back from injury he must have taken a lot of encouragement from seeing Nir Bitton going from outcast to a 1st pick in the team.

Also, when you are out for so long I think it makes you appreciate the opportunity you have even more.

Mentality? Maybe.

I think mainly Rogic has worked out pretty much as you would expect if he was going to make it. He had the raw technical materials to be a good player but he hadn't played a lot of football over the years and he was also moving from Australia to Scotland away from family.

So it's taken him a few years to get used to living abroad, get his body used to the rigours of full time football and the physical demands.

I watched him play in the Melbourne derby about two years ago, or maybe it was only last year, and he was hopeless. He just got shut out of the game. My mate said he'd never make it with us but it was obvious he had the skills.

I don't think it's too far a stretch to assume hat he'd never have got a chance under Lennon if he was still here. He's not a British enough player and technical, creative types are eyed with suspicion in these parts.

I think it's a real credit to Ronny and the other coaching staff that he's in and been given a chance. And a credit to the lad himself.

I love seeing guys like this at Celtic. Sad part is these types of players are ten a penny on the continent and practically every team has at least one guy like Rogic, though often with varying degrees of quality. I hope he keeps improving because he can be a great player for us.

EDIT: he's got the perfect mentor for the no. 10 position in John Collins who played there a lot at Monaco.

i think a big part is how hes built himself up whilst out injured. at the start he was brushed off the ball easily and a bit weak even in development games against kids. completely different now and he looks so much stronger and able to hold anyone off which is making up for his lack of pace, giving him time to pick passes which has always been his biggest asset

superb pass through ball yesterday that armstrong should have buried. rogic armstrong and allan are all great at those kind of through balls which work well with griffiths and coles pace

commons is probably the least "british style" player ever and lennon built his team to accomodate him in a free role upfront tbf
