He's a real loss if he's out.

Disagree with Watts and agree with Bandage
I think they're both right to an extent. They have certainly had their roles slightly nuanced, but Armstrong's starting position has been deeper to allow for late breaks into the box, something which Tom Rogic doesn't have in his locker and Rogic receives the ball higher up the pitch to allow for this.

I think the shape has changed slightly since Armstrong has come in. It was more of a 4-2-3-1 with Bitton and Brown holding but it's now more of a 4-1-2-3 with Armstrong and Rogic playing ahead of Brown and having both attacking and defensive responsibilities.
I see it that way myself. I read somewhere that BR sees Tom as more of a number 8 than a number 10 and i think that's been his role in recent weeks.

It's a typical Rodgers midfield. It's still a central two but the way he describes it is that one holds and one plays more box-to-box. The reason it looks different is because Brown and Bitton were both holding due to the way they play, whereas Armstrong fits that role more naturally. Nevertheless, he's still a central midfielder in the formation, just like Brown.

Clocked this myself. Looks a 4-3-3 of late.

 Yup. I think it's just taken a bit of time to get everyone to a level where we could play a 4-3-3 and do the pressing needed.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
His creating chances is a must improve area for him, 3 assists in 24 games this season, is way way way to little for player in his position
Jesus Christ, you're in danger of basically admitting you have no understanding of football here mate.

Rogic is by a distance the most creative player in our team, his direct assists might be low but he's more often than not the guy who cuts teams open, take Wednesday as a perfect example, he slots a lovely through ball to Moussa, 1 on 1 with the keeper, he chooses to slide it to Griffiths, that goal was all about Rogic's vision and weight of pass but because some people only choose to look at stats in their most basic form they then come out with stuff like "Rogic needs to make more assists"
ok lets go through the December games so far, don't have the time to go through the hole season

The focus here are the final ball (assist) or the pass that comes before that

Motherwell
McGregor goal - no involvement
Roberts goal - no involvement
Armstrong goal - no involvement
Scored the 4th

Man City
Roberts goal -no involvement

Partick Thistle
Armstrong goal - no involvement
Armstrong goal - no involvement
Griffiths goal, Rogic makes a pass that goes to the Thistle defender who looses it under pressure from Griffiths
McGregor goal - no involvement

Hamilton
Griffiths goal, makes the pass before the assist

Dundee
Griffiths goal, free kick so no assist
Bitton goal, no involvement

That is 12 goals so far this month we have scored of which he scored 1 - He has been involved in the build up to 2 of those, one that went to an opposition player that then lost it and a good through ball

Perfectly happy to say that he has "dancing"/nippy feet, but he should make more assists IMO in the position that he plays

Or maybe the fact that he doesn't constantly attempt defence splitting, Hollywood passes is one of the reasons why we maintain possession, wear down the opposition, and create hundreds of chances.

Also, he'd have had a job being involved in Bitton's goal

If the moon boot was on his right foot he could probably still play.

Hopefully back for the game against The Mooncats.

Massively important player for us, has been for quite some time. We've been crying out for some flair and genius since the days of Naka. Kris Commons filled that position brilliantly in different, highly effective ways but he didn't have the ball skills and lush control of Lubo, Naka or Royston that melts the heart.
