Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I think that was a warning about defamation. Sutton was treading the line when he was calling BFDJ a liar and a charlatan.
Johnston called Sutton a liar as well.
He did, I think that was after Shug said what he did about the confines of the law as well.

The Press Pack seem to be turning. The cynical me wonders why they are turning. What have they been told?

I think it's circle the wagons round Dave King time. As ever The Laird o'Bigghhoose can do no wrong. Barton, Warburton, even BFDJ will be collateral damage.
I reckon they've turned a little cos level 5 aren't feeding them like they did until recently. There was a very telling comment comment in Ralston's article last week when he wrote (along the lines of) go to your go to guy at talksport. In other words, level 5 have Jim Whyte on the books now and you don't need to be a genius to see the farcical reporting on SSN for evidence of this. They've been at it a while, at least a couple of years now, with him but he seems to be the head hun these days for media sycophancy.

Last night apart, I still think Sutton has a lot to learn about punditry. I find him quite cringe worthy at times and his Cragan double act is a bit of a sham. He is by nature a bully and needs to rain in his natural desire to dominate a conversation. Big fella is a bit if a shock jock, but their is evidence he is starting to develope his media personality, still a way to go to become balanced. His Twitter personality is far more balanced than the pitch side interupting ranter.
I agree on this. Sutton's punditry is one of "shock jock" at times.

However if Rangers were lying bottom of the league in March, BFDJ would still not dare criticise Dave King. Provan nails it in today's Herald where he says there is an absolute reluctance of ex Rangers players to have a go at their old club.

In the Scottish media, ex-Rangers players are allowed to wax lyrical about Rangers heading off into the sunset and leaving the rest of Scottish football behind and then 12 years later they get away with a diatribe about Scotish football not coming to their aid in Rangers time of need. (M. Hateley)

I think Sutton's comments are mostly accurate about BFDJ. And the needing "security" retort was way out of order. One of BFDJ''s "controversial" colleagues at Clyde, I am told, avoids many places in Glasgow because of the "hastle and abuse" he gets. Does Johnstone think thinks his fellow employee deserves it ? (Of course he doesn't - a pundit's opinions should NOT result in abuse at a restaurant or require for them to need security)

He should continue being forthright in his opinions and should call it as he sees fit. Just needs to manage the ranting and raving, bit like yourself :)

Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but two huns talking about it this morning at the gym and where cursing big Sutton no end and praising BFDJ for putting him in his place. So basically that mob think their "puppet" won the battle against Big Sutton yet all the tims I've spoken to think the opposite so I will give it a good listen to and give my own humble opinion later but I have a good idea whose opinion will be nearer the truth
