Lets hope SSN allow the fat slob to be challenged by callers next time he's on, the bodyguards and the lies need to be addressed. Shameful.
There's more lucidity in a plate of chow mein than BFDJ. His comment was about putting the sound down on the TV when watching BT sport was just pathetic.

I hope he makes some more comments about Sutton that allows TEG to sort him out again on air.
The bit about Sutton being England when he was backing Whyte and Green whas comedy gold. Derek obviously doesn't understand the internet.

I was cringing listening to the witless hun mess trying to come back at him.

How that fat carrot has kept a job in the media for so long up here says it all.

I must be far easier going than most on here.

For me, Clyde is a decent laugh on a Saturday. BFDJ is decent enough banter & I don't find him to be malicious. If you take him being a hun or a clown to heart, then whatever floats your boat.

When you see what Walker, Burley, Nicholas have come out with at the other end of the scale, I don't see DFDJ as being that bad.

What they are too stupid to realise is that a few more personalities like Sutton covering the game here and it might actually be worth more than two bob at renewal time. Even if he is a dick to everyone at least he has an opinion which isn't on message. The msm have cultivated the disenchantment felt by fans for years.

We're never going to have pogba here on £250k a week but there are other ways to make it interesting - not all those ways need to be on the park.
^ This times a million.

One of the big problems we have in promoting the game in Scotland is the utterly half-arsed nature of the broadcasting on radio and TV.

A succession of inarticulate pillocks like BFDJ and Gordon Dalziel is part of that problem.

More guys like TEG and Michael Stewart, please.

Apologies if already pointed out but anyone notice the uber hun remark from BFDJ.....

" I hope u make lots of money....." A certain wee dig about Sutton's previous bankruptcy
If it was, then Johnstone is totally forgetful of his own past, when his money worries were regularly splashed over the tabloids.

I must be honest & I dare say this won't go down well, but I don't mind BFDJ.

He's a hun & loves his club, big deal - doesn't make you a bad guy. Like all huns, he was desperate for Whyte, Green & King to ride to the rescue, so the cheerleading I get. Fat Sally was his mate, so you can understand why he tried to stick up for him. What do folk expect?

In comparison to other ex players / ex huns in the media, he's harmless.

Unless I'm missing something he's done, I don't get the distain for him on here.
The qualities you mention may be acceptable for a guy in the pub but not for someone hosting a (supposedly) impartial radio show.

Add in Derek's stupidity and inability to enter reasoned debate and theres no way the show can be informative or interesting. It just gets stuck in the same old routine or the guest or called ridiculed or moved on. Its only ridiculous moments like yesterday that make the show interesting.

There's potential for a decent listen but not with that agenda-riding, useless, thick arsehole hosting it.
He doesn't host it

He's allowed to support his team, no-one has a problem with that at all, but some of his ramblings over the past few years have been right up there with the lunacy on Follow, Follow.

He's an eejit and it's only in this country that someone as uninformed about the subjects he pontificates on would get regular newspaper, radio and tv gigs.

I tend to agree. While he is very obviously a buffoon and a Rangers cheerleader he's not even in the same league as characters such as Traynor. Apparantly a decent guy. Sutton tore him a new one though, of that there can be no doubt.

I don't find him malicious either but he certainly has been used by Rangers to get a point across as has Mark Hateley. That means that you question whatever he is saying. Is he being honest or is he putting forward an agenda because he is being asked to ?

After the Barton bust up, he was saying that it could actually be a good thing for Rangers. A load of nonsense that will have gone down well with the powers that be at Ibrox.

Most folk don't get enjoyment from listening to a thick clown who can't form any opinion that isn't pro rangers. If that's your thing then have at it.

Didn't hear the aftermath, did Shug back up bfdj?
No. He basically said that a pundit could say what they wanted within the confines of the law or some pish.
I think that was a warning about defamation. Sutton was treading the line when he was calling BFDJ a liar and a charlatan.

Sutton is a tremendous pundit...excellent on the BBC Five Live. Gets away with the smugness and arrogance because he's funny and witty with it. He's def not chasing headlines, it's just how he talks all the time. Must be a nightmare to be around

That with BFDJ is though is completely unparalleled in terms of simply telling it like it is. The fact that McCulloch and Keevins could not find any issue with anything Sutton said speaks volumes - they must have been feeling pretty uncomfortable throughout all of that and looking for any excuse to step in.

Keevins attempt about legal matters was in complete desperation.

Funny they're asking Sutton to be civil while fatty is being hostile and rude

Spitting though his teeth - disgusted he is even talking to 'him' showed no wit, humour or ability to trade digs - just got more and more annoyed

Not very professional - don't expect him to be but I was actually struck at just how rude and - no wait - Orc acting like Orc shocker! Doesn't accept any criticism from a tim - he should be embarrassed and his employees at clyde should be having a word

Man is a tool
Despite him being correct Sutton was incredibly rude, that's what made it so funny
That's what's great about Sutton he treats fools such as BJDJ with the contempt they deserve and boy do they not like it.

Sutton was every bit as important as MON and Henrik in changing the dominance from the huns to ourselves. We now enjoy the legacy of that period. When Sutton came in his first public words were he was here to put Rangers in their place. The guy certainly delivered and continues to do so. When I first heard him say that however I'll admit I cringed because like a lot of Celtic fans at that time I was beaten down and had a beaten mentality. Who knows maybe even players such as Henrik, Lambert, Mjallby, Boyd, Stubbs, Lubo suffered from it to a degree.

Sutton's forthright and has belief in everything he does as a player and now he's shaking up the huns in the media the same way as he shook up the huns on the park back in 2000. They are petrified of him and hate him equally. Arguably our best ever signing and certainly the best ever pundit in the Scottish game.

He may be harmless but you shouldn't be in the punditry profession if you cant give honest views, because it may involve saying some not so nice things about ex colleagues at your old club.
The Alex Thompson spat with Clyde/Hugh a few years ago explains it better, until the succulent lamb journalism is destroyed in the West of Scotland, then sports journalism/punditry is never going evolve to the level it should be at for our game. It will continue to be a laughing stock of the wee Glasgow goldfish bowl.

I dont mind Sutton, he does speak his mind when it concerns Celtic as well as that mob. It's how pundits should conduct their views in public.
