Switched SSB on for the meltdown while in the car.

Hugh came out with some classic unconscious comedy. When a caller said that the show was responsible for inciting sectarianism, Hugh replied:

I can categorically state with absolutely no risk of being proved wrong that no one has ever said anything "insightful" on this show...ever.

So true Hugh

Yeah here it is. Guy is a complete clown. I've had my own greveinces with that show over the years, but in no way has Gerry McCulloch ever actively or otherwise "encouraged sectarianism". Horrible allegation. Btw please note that BFDJ sits absolutely silent the whole time. :nono:

I think in a hamfisted way he makes a decent point - the media love to stir up Celtic Rangers controversy. That's why they ask about Joey Barton at Brendan Rodgers' press conferences. They fuel the fire to sell copy and then stand back and warm their hands at the fire when it does kick off. They obviously don't fuel sectarianism directly but they are definetly guilty of whipping up the rivalry on one hand and pretending to be aghast at it on the other.

I got the point too I might add

They don't have the capacity to cope with being mediocre

I'd be willing to bet some of them would run back down a league just to be lording it over the part timers with their 'expansive football'

They were so happy last year - warbs had a magic hat and they won games

Now it's Gerry's fault, it's the media it's Hugh effin Kevin's fault

This is the melt down and collapse I'd kind of hoped for - I hope it lasts a while longer too - how will they cope with being fourth in he league?

Really really badly
How will they cope with fourth? They don't want to be fourth. Fifth is the position of dignity Timmy.

Holding a staunch line in the middle. The spine of Scottish football.

The club that bridges the gap between the haves and have nots in the Scottish game.

The saviours of football in Scotland in a very real sense.

Radio Shortbread - Barry (8) asked how he'd respond to Chris Sutton's comments on Warbs and says he'd cite Sutton's own poor record when in charge of Lincoln.

Messrs Speirs and Wilson agree

Barry then says that Warbs will come through this as he has Davie Weir at his side - Messrs Speirs and Wilson again agree

No mention, of course, about Weary's own dreadful record at Sheffield Utd

The talk eventually moves on to the dismissal of Alex Rae and surprise surprise all three are in agreement that it's extremely harsh and what do such clubs expect

Shame for David Farrell though. Anyone who has read his book would be rooting for him to make a go of it.

They are bottom of the League. Hardly a surprise.

Taxi for Farrell :ph43r:
