Re Joey B, BFDJ suddenly an expert on Company Law

"I think Rangers haven't commented as I think it's an HR thing that comes under Company Law"
I'm only a lawyer....and clearly don't have the depth of knowledge of BFDJ...

but would have thought a"HR thing" would be caught by employment law rather than company law ;)
c'mon jim they blame everything on the "company"

It was also used by ITV in 1970....trust me...I'm old enough to remember
 Not being cheeky but was it in colour? Ive always wondered about the TV coverage back then.

I was born in 68 but have no memory of 74, my da assures me I watched the games on the couch with him, first world cup I really remember is 78 and wanting Argentina to win, my ma said "NAW! you want Holland to win cos we beat them and if they win then we're the real world champions"
1974 was defo in colour, 1970 was filmed in colour, but not sure if BBC1 and ITV were broadcasting in colour; BBC2 had some programmes in colour, but not fitba'.

Think ITV's theme for 1970 coverage was this one:

The Celtic-Leeds game at hamdump was broadcast in colour but it was English cameras.

It wasn't in colour in my house in 1970... but we were poor

Was definitely filmed and broadcast in colour though.....bith channels were broadcasting in colour by then

I'm now not convinced by the tune dating from 1970 having seen the subsequent post but I would have sworn that was the 1970 theme and ITV used it for more than one World Cup

Having listened I still think the other one was the ITV theme for 1970 too.....think what you have posted is the music for the FIFA official film of the event :ponder:

But maybe we should open a new thread for theme music and keep this one on topic

Did any one hear last nights SportsSound? It was pretty funny. The Magic Hat has the pish ripped out of him.

Spiers got a dig in about Richard Wilson (who was on the show). He said he was "always ready to bat for Rangers."

He was asked later to apologise and said it was well known that on Rangers forums that Wilson was one of the few journalists who always backed Rangers!

Took me back to the famous Jabba Chco spat on who was the biggest Rangers cheer leader!
Did I imagine this?

No CM rest assured your imagination is not running away with you. Spiers basically reiterated a tweet that he had put out, highlighting the irony of Sevco issuing a statement cascading others for exposing their support to sectarianism. Wilson mumbled some retort about being in their rights to do so, at which point Spiers highlighted that he, Wilson, was always quick into bat for Sevco( Spiers called them by another term, which maybe childishly I still refuse to recognise). The subject was swiftly changed by the host and didn't listen after that so can say if Spiers was asked for an apology or otherwise.

Switched SSB on for the meltdown while in the car.

Hugh came out with some classic unconscious comedy. When a caller said that the show was responsible for inciting sectarianism, Hugh replied:

I can categorically state with absolutely no risk of being proved wrong that no one has ever said anything "insightful" on this show...ever.

So true Hugh

Yeah here it is. Guy is a complete clown. I've had my own greveinces with that show over the years, but in no way has Gerry McCulloch ever actively or otherwise "encouraged sectarianism". Horrible allegation. Btw please note that BFDJ sits absolutely silent the whole time. :nono:

They don't have the capacity to cope with being mediocre

I'd be willing to bet some of them would run back down a league just to be lording it over the part timers with their 'expansive football'

They were so happy last year - warbs had a magic hat and they won games

Now it's Gerry's fault, it's the media it's Hugh effin Kevin's fault

This is the melt down and collapse I'd kind of hoped for - I hope it lasts a while longer too - how will they cope with being fourth in he league?

Really really badly
