What the hell have they done to the theme tune!?!?! The original was the only good thing about the show.
I've got a slight crush on the theme tune. Cant remember the original?

It always reminds me of a Saturday night, sitting in the back of my Dads car as kid going to pick up his Taxi from somewhere that seemed like miles and miles away(when in fact it was only about 10 minutes away)

Always got a chippie or something on the way home. :chuffed:

Think we're talking about the same tune!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLT59AqleBs

An absolute classic.

I'm sure I heard a 21st century version at the start of that broadcast. It was honkin.

I thought it was just me. Why did they change it?

Best theme tune in sport and they've changed it!

I think (not sure if my memory is playing tricks on me) it was originally used for ITV's coverage of the 1974 world cup finals in Germany.

When Scotland were on against Zaire, Brazil and Yugoslavia the panel wore tartan blazers.

Did any one hear last nights SportsSound? It was pretty funny. The Magic Hat has the pish ripped out of him.

Spiers got a dig in about Richard Wilson (who was on the show). He said he was "always ready to bat for Rangers."

He was asked later to apologise and said it was well known that on Rangers forums that Wilson was one of the few journalists who always backed Rangers!

Took me back to the famous Jabba Chco spat on who was the biggest Rangers cheer leader!

I kind of agree with Jim62 and think what he says is true for 99% of the pundits on that show.

Their footballing knowledge and understanding is shockingly poor and their discussions on that show are often nothing to do with football at all.
any chance of an example?
Very rarely listen now, but the last example that made me irate was when a Celtic fan phoned up to say the referee had ruined the first ever Celtic Sevco game (the one we won 2-0) and the decision to call Griffiths as offside was abysmal.

Hugh Keevins' riposte was (in a snidey, all knowing tone) - "So did the Rangers goalkeeper also ruin the game by making a good save just after that?"

Nothing the panel ever say relates to the point just made. Their biggest problem is that they are on the defense (see above) before a caller has even made their point.

I think this was a World Cup official theme for ITV or BBC....1974 maybe?

I only know that as I used to have a World Cup themes mix CD and had it playing whilst I played ISS Deluxe on my SNES.

I also think it was originally called Wembley Lap of Honour :o

Someone at Sevco has obviously told BFDJ that. There's no way he just thought that was the case off the top of his head.

I'm only a lawyer....and clearly don't have the depth of knowledge of BFDJ...

but would have thought a"HR thing" would be caught by employment law rather than company law ;)

 Not being cheeky but was it in colour? Ive always wondered about the TV coverage back then.

I was born in 68 but have no memory of 74, my da assures me I watched the games on the couch with him, first world cup I really remember is 78 and wanting Argentina to win, my ma said "NAW! you want Holland to win cos we beat them and if they win then we're the real world champions"
