Even when they pointed out, it was his header the keeper saved, still wouldn't back down from his point

Beautiful. Can't listen but the pain is getting more and more delightful. I want us to remain unbeaten until the rest of Scotland reaches the three days national holiday stage.

Let them suffer

Were Barry and Alex Rae on the same show there?Just caught a wee bit of it.
I'm not sure if anyone else was guesting but that is not fair balance by any standard.

The fact that between the pair them they couldn’t put together a coherent sentence, makes if a wee bit biased in our favour I suppose

I listened to Clyde for the first hour, Guidi and Daziel both admitted that after seeing the view that Collum had, it was a definite penalty. I wonder how many other pundits / journalists will change their mind and admit they got it wrong.
Motherwell manager, Robinson?, was talked up for his "dignity" in not raising the issue at his press conference - any chance he saw the clip beforehand and realised he was in the wrong, but didn't have the "dignity" to admit it?

Laughed my arse off when they read the lineup at the top of the show. Kenny McIntyre, Barry Ferguson, Alex Rae, and Richard Wilson!

Total hun love-in - took them an age to get to the key point of the Sevco AGM, which was that they'll have to be reliant on soft loans until "success" in Europe brings them back to a break-even situation. That point seemed to pass pretty much unremarked upon.

They also saw the reverse angle of the McGregor penalty on air, and the only one to maintain it wasn't a penalty was arch-hun Alex Rae. The rest of them folded their hands on watching that replay and agreed it was a fair call by the referee.

Kenny McIntyre seems to think that people arguing over anything constitutes good radio. I can see why an intellectual pygmy like Alex Rae is a regular then - his ability to argue against all logic and common sense makes him the ideal guest.

Basically Guidi and wan Cell laughed his credible points about us & not getting decisions off and how angry (ironic coming from Guidi FFS) Ricky sounded.

He made valid points about Meeking ICT game and handball and they basically laughed at the guy calling in.

Only bit of SSB I usually catch is beat the pundit on a Thursday when I'm heading home from 7s. Guidi's not usually on, but he was last night. Dalziel pasted the guy who phoned in and everybody had a laugh about it, except Guidi, who came across as an utter floof and made a snide remark about the guy's score. Must be hard work to be such a banger.

I often listen to the SSB podcast to pass the time on the commute. Out of the lot of them, Guidi is the worst by far. BFDJ included.

agree re: guidi.

I often disagree with many of the pundits opinions, but with guidi its the way he comes across too - as an utter pumpkin with a very demeaning attitude.

Good post. Macintyre is terrible for that... up until fairly recently, Clyde was just wall-to-wall idiocy on all sides while Sportsound, while still infuriating, at least had a bit of substance to it. Clyde is still awful, of course, but the new presenter Gordon Duncan isn’t shy to pull the pundits up when they start talking nonsense, and he does it without turning it into a rammy. Macintyre is just a blowhard, who brings out the worst in people who are already incoherent fuds.

You get the impression Guidi gets a testosterone injection just before he comes on. Either that or it's just dead easy to be a hard man at the other end of a phone line.

 Macintyre's (it's an odd thing, but when using his surname only, I always hear it in Burt Lancaster's voice from Local Hero. Anyway...) hosting of the 2 hour Neil Lennon special from the referees strike era was horrendous. The assembled cast needed little encouragement to vent their collective hun fury, but he seemed intent in whipping up a frenzy. Paul Brennan maintaining his self-respect was quite remarkable (now hearing that in a David Coleman voice :( ) in the circumstances.

Guidi is always first in to pull some one up for their choice of language when describing folk in the game. "Don't come on here and call people cheats ok? That's not a very nice term. Will you take that back. Choose another word before you come on here" yadda yadda.

Always chining people for using terms like cheats, imposters etc etc.

But it was ok for someone last night to call Sinclair a cheat without it being picked up on. Ricky raised that and like mentioned above ... basically got laughed off the phone.
