I heard a wee bit of the phone in last night, James from Drumchapel was on again (they have their regulars who always get on, Laurie, James and John) and they cut him off because he called NL a crackpot and then Shug had a wee go at him after the call was terminated. Then in the paper today, Keith Jackson has a go at the scum and the police for their treatment of NL - is the media turning?
Did you hear the Sunderland/Hibs fan who mentioned being subjected to sectarian singing and BFDJ's immediate response was to ask what Hibs fans are dishing out at Easter Road.
I did, Macca?, who put BFDJ in his place and made it quiet clear that thee was a big difference between normal football abuse and the sectarian abuse from the scum fans - I'm sure the 2 co-presenters backed Macca up as well. BFDJ didn't have an answer, as usual. I switched off just after that

after they cut off that guy who called NL a crackpot BFDJ said he made good points. After Macca mentions the sectarian abuse and BFDJ said about rangers getting abuse by hibs fans at Easter rd Macca said yes but it's not sectarian abuse BFDJ said it's only football banter!Chris Sutton was 100% right about him.
There was a tim on just after him (I think) and the presenter actually asked him if he thought Lenny would behave in the same way at CP

They were trying to paint Lennon as a 'pantomime villain' last night. Naw. Neymar is a pantomime villain at CP because he gets booed for being a carrot. Joey Barton was a pantomime villain.

Lennon gets sectarian abuse and death threats off the undead. As far as I am aware that doesn't happen at the Pavilion over Christmas. Yet another attempt by msm to trivialise the behaviour of those arseholes.

It's pretty pathetic.

Heard on radio Shortbread last night that the 'top flight' teams in Scotland are on to a £275,000 windfall for Celtic getting to the ECL. Apparently that sum is what teams get from one of the Cup competitions, cant remember if its the League or Scottish cup. there was still some carrot on the show moaning about Celtics domination of domestic football though.

Laurie will call up today bemoaning the fact Celtic won 5-0 and not happy that Celtic will boost there balance sheet again meaning domestic domination remains on the card for years to come.

According to Phil Mac, sevco earned £200k from their European - ahem - adventure.

So Celtic have earned more money for sevco than they have themselves...

Yip Jim Duffy asking the Aberdeen assistant manager is it not bad news that Celtic will EARN £25/30m??
As opposed to all the other clubs winning £270,000 from Celtics exploits.
Aberdeen boy tbf didn't bite and basically said we all have to get on with it and he was delighted with our result.

CL money for scottish clubs is more than they get from ladbrokes, the league sponsors. Ladbrokes pay just over 2 million a year.

I'm sure I read that one of the clubs in recent seasons (Aberdeen maybe) spent more on their early European rounds than they made, just in travel and accommodation. Sevco's £200k will be long absorbed into their coffers

Always the biggest argument for me having been a militant teenager in the 90's with them being backed by every carrot in the media. They won everything and at that time I was an avid reader of the Sunday Mail & NOTW (i know but I was young).

Not a peep mentioned about competition in this country and how it is ruining the domestic game. Thats is a FACT they do not wish to talk about in present day.

It was all about the man with one name (Walter) and how he would emulate Jock by buying Ronaldo (fat one) and Kenny Dal. coming in as super scout etc.

Not a jot about the rest of Scottish football and how we are getting on. To busy with a pallbearer outside Celtic park and mocking Fergus & Wim Jansen (record said he was the biggest mess in Japan since the Nuclear Bomb IIRC) openly mocking him when he started out with us in 97.

Press & Media in this country were and still are nothing short of a disgrace particularly back then. I stick to KD street now for my Celtic info :rocker:

Guy's a complete bawbag

Confirmed when asked that previously he didn't go to games as he couldn't afford it. Then he came into some dosh and got a ST then last season moaned that it was too easy and him and his pals were leaving early during some games, as they were bored.

eff off Laurie, ya auld windbag

So the clubs are going to be getting about 7k a week thanks to us. That's massive in Scottish Football terms.

Honestly, for the smaller clubs in the top flight that pays for 4 players for the season.
