Naismith has a nice piece of land and is building a huge house in the hills just above his home town of Stewarton. Not far from Killie owner Billy Bowie. House has beautiful view across east/south Ayrshire towards Arran. Don't be surprised if he ends up back at Killie with his old pal Elbows.

Now they're asking for marketing ideas for their ST sales next season.

That was utterly bizarre. Blatant and bizarre

He'll probably drive up the hills to his house, rather than walk.

And if his huge house has a lot of stairs he could get one of those stairlift things.

Or maybe even a lift.

Daily Rectum - 24/6/12

STEVEN NAISMITH’S dream was always to play for Rangers.

It was the club he’d supported as a boy and it was the club he went on to win trophies and play in Europe for.

But when the Rangers he knew and loved ceased to exist 11 days ago, part of his dream died with it.

Now? He can’t even bring himself to call them by their new name.

Naismith yesterday rejected a switch to Charles Green’s newco club The Rangers after deciding to quit Ibrox. And throughout his final press conference, the 25-year-old continually referred to them as Sevco – the business title of the company that will form a new Glasgow club.

Clearly, Naismith was making a point – that the club he once adored had been ripped away from him by others and there was no going back.

Some Rangers fans will question Naismith’s loyalty to a club who stood by him in his dark days when injury threatened to ruin his career.

But the striker claims his debt of gratitude was to the club who signed him – not Sevco, Green or any of the mystery men behind his controversial takeover.

Naismith said: “This has been the biggest decision of my career. It’s one I haven’t taken lightly. I’ve had to sit down with the people closest to me to work out what’s best.

“The uncertainty surrounding the new club, especially in terms of what league they’re going to play in, has been a major factor in my decision.

“It probably hasn’t sunk in yet I’m not a Rangers player any more. It’s been a tough few days. But a big decision had to be made and I believe I’ve made the right one.

“This is a new company called Sevco. I’ve never met Mr Green or anyone from Sevco. I don’t know who the investors are or what league they’ll be in. So how can I push forward into a new company that I don’t know anything about or any person involved in it?

“I have concerns about who is in charge of the new club, definitely. You need to know what business you’re going to be part of. If you don’t, it’s inevitable there will be problems.

“The first I heard from Mr Green was on Thursday through an email. You would think they might have been in contact before then considering the enormity of the situation.

“The loyalty I had was with Rangers. I’ve never met anyone from Sevco since it’s been formed. And I don’t think I could have moved forward on those terms.

“Will I ever come back and support the new club? I haven’t thought about it. Like a lot of Rangers fans, I’m just thinking short-term rather than long-term.

“I just hope a team can be playing at Ibrox in front of 52,000 folk every second week and competing for trophies because it means so much to a lot of people.”

Naismith’s anger and frustration about the liquidation of Rangers comes from the feelings he had towards the club he watched as a kid. He clearly feels let down by the whole sorry saga and hopes genuine Gers supporters will understand his decision to quit.

He said: “I’d like to think they would. The best time of my career was at Rangers and we had five really successful seasons.

“When I started in football I wanted to be a regular in a first team and I got that at Kilmarnock. I wanted to play for Rangers and my country. So I’m angry as a fan. I hope one day it can turn back into the Rangers that everyone knows.

“My loyalty will always be with Rangers FC. That’s the team who signed me. That’s the team I took a 75 per cent pay cut for.

“I wish Mr Green all the best and I hope he can bring the kind of success to the new company that the old one had.

“There is a frustration there as to what has been allowed to happen. It wasn’t in the best interests of the majority of the squad to take a pay cut. The guys did it because of the connection they have had with the club.

“That gave the administrators a better chance of bringing the club out through a CVA and it saved jobs as well.

“But it’s really frustrating it hasn’t turned out that way. Many people are to blame for what happened to Rangers but I don’t think anyone will ever know the full story.” It now looks certain Green’s new Rangers will be plying their trade in the First Division next season.

For Naismith, a seasoned international at the peak of his powers, that wasn’t an option. He said: “When I started out in football I wanted to play at the highest level I can for as long as possible. So playing in the lower leagues in Scotland would have been unthinkable for me.

“I feel I have progressed really well as a player over the past couple of years. I think I’m past the stage of playing in the lower leagues.

“It would hold me back to go and play in the First Division or even the Third Division at this stage in my career.

“There’s possibly only one other club in Scotland who could sign me – but I won’t be going to them! It’s fair to say I’ll be looking outside Scotland for a new club.”

Rangers manager Ally McCoist criticised any player who was considering jumping ship before the start of the new campaign. But after he and Steven Whittaker became the first to officially walk away Naismith said: “The manager was the first person I spoke to because I have so much respect for him.

“We had a pleasant chat and he understood my point of view. I have a massive amount to thank him for, along with Walter Smith, Ian Durrant and Kenny McDowall. I wanted to speak to the manager personally because he deserved to know the reasons why.

“He has a job to do and wants to know who is going and who’s not. I don’t have a problem with that and there is always going to be criticism of players who leave.

“But I hope a lot of people would see the good that myself and a lot of players did for the club.”

Even though they have a new manager who's probably never heard of any of them. Their obsession with the past is laughable.

Naismith is on around 50 grand a week at Norwich. 2 grand aweek at Killie won't appeal.

The panel are laying down the narrative that he only left for a top 6 EPL team

Mark Guidis a pure sevco cheerleader
Guidi sounded like one angry man on Saturday at the state of the Hun. I suppose being proved wrong and Scottish football really doesn't need a strong sevco must hurt.

What they really mean is that Scottish football needs a weak Celtic.

John the Hun from Paisley accusing the panel of presuming ("that's a sin in life, you know....presuming") that Rangers (sic) have no money.

God bless, they're always talking about us to make themselves seem relevant to us.

Their overcompensation of trying to say they are the same club is hilarious. "54 tites, most sucessful we're always Rangers, I dont care what people say about us" etc :lolhuns: Good times.

I thought their (unaudited) accounts stated clearly that they have no money and need more loans to pay the bills.

Yeah this hankering after laffety, Naismith and whittaker is eloquent of their desire to reach into their past when happier times obtained.
The huns see no future for their pishy new club. It has none, at least not as a title contender. But by adding a few faces that put them in mind of a bygone era when they could challenge Celtic , the huns can nurture a little longer their deluded dreams of toppling Celtic
It's all make-believe over at aye-brokes. Always was.
