Whilst I accept that Keevins, BFDJ & McCulloch know as much about football as I know about the dietary needs of a rangatang, questions about the Huns song book isn't for a football phone in, it's for a social science platform.

Answering or commenting on why do people sing songs about a guy on a horse from 4 centuries ago, wanting to be up to their knees in fenian blood & revelling in child abuse is hardly talentless & witless football pundits job is it?
Whilst discussing orange band parades and sectarianism in the wider society isn't for discussion on a football phone-in I would argue that football fans singing songs at games most certainly is. We should openly discuss the problem on football related broadcasts to help eradicate the problem.

I agree that certain pundits would decide against discussing the issue but some like Spiers will openly give their views. I would welcome more pundits to do the same.
Spiers is now more known for what he's said about the Huns song book, which I agree with him about than he is as a football pundit.

There's plenty of people in the media who get called cowards for not talking about Sectarianism, when the truth is they don't care about it, spending hours chatting about it is tedious to them, they are football fans who became football writers.

They care as much about Scotlands sectarianism as they do its alcohol & obesity problem.

Keevins in particular always seems happy to make snide wee sanctimonious comments about "...in this part of the world". He certainly feels qualified to comment on cultural matters when it suits him. The belligerent auld arsehole that he is

Speirs: " Scott Brown has a bit of the thug in him" :ffs:

When Packie Bonner challenged him Speirs replied "I didn't mean to use that word but I have done so now"
Although "Thug" is clearly the wrong word ...I sort of understand what Speirs means by that...and actually sort of agree with it :ph43r:

And actually think every great team needs a player like that and has or has had one

Hard, uncompromising and tough tackling would be closer to the mark. Don't think I can recall any Celtic player that could
be called a thug :ponder:

Leeds United had a whole team of them, and we still beat them home and away.

Franks call was a thing of beauty , from start to premature finish.

BFDJ's idea to improve the hun on Saturday was sublime , get Bomber and John Grieg in that dressing room to kick some arse !
Yeah, Frank even called out BFDJ for that statement about brown/greig as well. Great call. The reason he got papped by Gerry was a bit of a joke as well.

Here it is for anyone that missed it:

Caller is alluding to their new favourite song

Their take on 'I think we're alone now'

Despite other vile ads on's i believe

The words are, and I'm not making this up

We hate kaffliks - everybody hates roman kaffliks - we hate kaffliks and repeat to fade

That's the best they can come up with

How many people ever go off injured after a Brown tackle? Way wrong to call him a thug.

Ewan Murray's tweets about Sportsound last night are very amusing.

"What are we going to do about this Barry?!" to the sound of funeral music etc.

What a way to effing operate, if you made a mistake in your language and are called on it just apologise, don't just be arrogant about it.

Ok Graeme I think you are effing scum, didn't mean to use those words but I have done so now.

I don't mean it in a bad way, but well you know what I mean.

Speirs calls Brown a thug whilst sitting in the company of the younger
member of the Belt Buckle Brothers of Bothwell .
