The O-'Brien lunge on Tierney - worse than Broony's on Boyce - which was deemed to be only worth a caution has been conveniently overlooked. Quelle surpise! :nono:

did we not get a goal wrongly disallowed that weekend? :ph43r:

Alex Rae was going off his head on SSB saying that players shouldn’t be allowed to appeal red cards /bans where it was obvious that they were guilty so as to be eligible for the next game.
You would wonder why he of all people would hold such a view given that the bold Alex did exactly the same whilst playing for Rangers(you may have heard of them).

For those who belong to the younger generation; Alex Rae deliberately kicked CSKA Moscow's Serghei Dadu in the head during a CL match in Moscow in 2004.
The referee didn’t see the incident or include it in his match report, but UEFA cited Rae and gave him a 5 match ban.

To everyone’s amazement, Rangers FC appealed the ban so that he could play in the second leg.
Rae even appeared at the hearing in Geneva to plead his innocence.
This was 2 days before the second leg.

Alex McLeish (Their manager at the time) said that he saw nothing wrong with challenge. He said of the incident “The ball was on the ground when Alex Rae attempted to kick it and it just so happened there was a Moscow player lying on the ground beside the ball.”

Rae’s account beggars belief. He said "The ball was actually there and he put his head down between my foot and the ball.”

So he has obviously changed his tune with regards to appeals. Maybe he may have seen the error of his ways.

I very much doubt it. You see Alex Rae is a HUN. A dyed in the wool Hun.
He can’t hide his hatred of Celtic and all that goes with it, that is why he is complaining about Celtic appealing Sunday’s decision.
It has nothing to do with justice, it is as simple as that.

I mind that game. There was some muppet sitting along from me who was going mental as soon as the ref came onto pitch . He was shouting "Scab" continually. He was told to shut the eff up pretty quickly 😂

Fans were stunned when he added 5 minutes at the end of the game, despite there being no injuries or subs made. When pushed by the media he simply stated that it wasn't extra time but was instead "Hamer Time".

I'll get my coat and delete my account on the eway out. :nono:

Yes.
On that day we got decisions that we normally wouldn't.

We were also pulled up on things we might have got away with on another day.

Simply put, the game was refereed honestly.

It was quite refreshing.

I wish people especially on the SSB panel would stop going on about Celtic (or indeed any other club for that matter) exploiting a "loophole" in appealing a red card decision. To my mind a "loophole" is an ambiguity or inadequacy in a law or set of rules. As I understand it the appeals procedure is agreed on by all the clubs at the start of the season.

In this instance 6i believe it was stated before a ball was kicked in this weekends games that there would be no hearings until next week on account of the holiday. If it had been any other player at any other club affecting any other fixture we would have heard not a jot about it. Just about every club would have taken their chances by lodging an appeal i.e. following the agreed procedure - not "exploiting a loophole".

It wasn't Chick Young ? (he spent the rest of the weekend at Glasgow Airport haranguing the foreign refs as they arrived)

Heard that one as well.

"So, you're saying if it was Rangers who had a player's card appealed, you'd be on here telling us it's a disgrace?"
"Well... eh... naw... probably not... but I still don't hink it's right.
