I was lucky enough to see both wee Jinky and Willie Henderson and I can honestly say, without any bias, that Jinky was better. Yes Henderson was good , but not as good, and he has even said that himself. I have met him on a couple of occasions and he is a genuinely nice guy and thinks the world wee Jinky. BFDJ is just being his usual bigoted ignorant fat arsed self. 😣

This pish again. The statistics don't hide the interesting bits under the miniskirt this time.

Willie Henderson:
36 goals in 478 games for the dead huns.
5 goals in 29 games for Scotland.

Jinky
129 goals in 515 games for Celtic.
4 goals in 23 games for Scotland.

Willie was a good wee player who couldn't lace Jimmy's boots. He was ten times the player Davie "the myth" Cooper was, however. Derek Johnstone is a clueless hun, best laughed at.

Jimmy Johnstone won only 23 caps for Scotland😳
The whole list of the caps the lions won was shocking considering. Fat man said it was because of the great players in Scotland at the time, my Dad begs to differ.

... oh don't even start on that topic :nono:

Billy McNeill only got 29 caps - the rest of the Lions more or less overlooked.

Cooper was a lovely player to watch, wonderful left foot to go with it. But he was inconsistent and not always as fit as he should've been.

I seen Cooper deliberately kick the ball out for a goal kick from the half way line against us cos he was so knackered he couldn't run with it anymore.

A hugely overrated player who's career can be summed up in about a 5 minute video. On his day he could be really good but those days were few and far between.

I´ve seen them both play -Jinky was a far better player IMO ,I got fed up with the Huns chanting at Hampden for Henderson when Jinky played for Scotland and booing when Jinky was on the ball - gave up after West Germany game in 1969 - McKinnon at CH , Billy McNeill not selected !Half way out terrace when Murdoch equalised !
Never been to an International since !

Willie Henderson was a great wee winger who kept Alex Scott out of the Ranger's team when Scott was playing for Scotland. However, Jinky was world class on his day and was unplayable on many occasions. As an aside I once played against him in a Lanarkshire Cup game at primary school and even as a tiny 11 year old amazed everybody playing and spectating. I used to love going to watch Scotland and particularly the opportunity to see Dennis Law in the flesh as it were. But at that time Rangers supporters were particularly virulent towards any Celtic players and this sickened me and I packed in going to watch Scotland. Nowadays if they were playing in my back garden I wouldn't even draw the curtains to watch them.

Just when you think think you've heard the craziest things that fat man has ever said he's only went and complained that you can't ask the question, "if you could only win 1 game would it be v hearts or v Celtic" So the clown goes off on one saying you'd want to win both, not getting it at all then actually answers 'hearts' as they're challenging for 2nd.

Also said if you were a purist then the Celtic/motherwell game wasn't a good game.
These 7 goal thrillers are nae good!
He just said wullie henderson was better than Jinky. :cuckoo:
Willie Henderson says he is talking pish. On numerous occasions I've heard Willie saying Jinky was the better by far.

as far as cooper goes in the early 80's he was only the 4th best winger in scotland after weir, bannon and provan (in no order)

Yep, I remember wee Jinky being booed whilst playing for Scotland and the huns chanting for Henderson and I too decided that I would no longer attend Hampden to watch Scotland play if our own players (all Celtic players got booed to some extent in those days) were getting booed whilst playing for their own country :nono:

When scotland beat czechoslovakia in 1973 to qualify for the world cup for the first tim since 1958 there were 5 Celtic players in the starting line up . So maybe the penny had dropped by that time.

My dad, who was born in Belfast but spent most of his life in Scotland, decided to go to his first Scotland at 17. Eamon Bannon got subbed on but was greeted by plenty of booing from the Scotland fans. He's not gone back since and he never made any effort to get his kids into the national team. We've not been in a major tournament that I can remember but I really can't be arsed with Scotland as much as I should, or any national team. This stuff lingers. People ought to remember this kind of stuff when players like McGeady and McCarthy go for Ireland over Scotland.

Scotland always seems to act against its own interests.

How come TB got so few caps?

That was the last time I attended a Scotland game for the same reason . My recollection of the game was of thousands of huns decked out in manky rangers scarfs shouting abuse at anyone they thought might be remotely Timmy and looking for a scrap.

Docherty wasn't in charge for this game as he quit to go to Man U after the first 2 qualifiers but had started Dalglish v Denmark at home. There were only 3 teams in the group in those days  Willie Ormond was manager for the Czech game. He did pick 5 Celts though and I think George Connolly made his debut that night as well.
