I can't see any time when it would be reasonable for him ever to play in another professional football match. He is a not only a regular bombscare, his bottle quite obviously went in a high pressure game. Find another career.

the lad is shampooe
but I can't help thinking that a manager who knew how to organise a defence or a team with a different philosophy or playing style could get a lot more out of him. He could be a mainstay of an Allardyce or a Pulis side.

Suspect he's one of these guys who will have a decent career bouncing from club to club because he has all the superficial athletic attributes and is actually a decent enough natural defender. None of this will make up for his complete lack of footballing ability and bottle and his many brainfart moments.

I don't think he will. He looks utterly lost on a football pitch and he will be one of those guys who is out the professional game by the time he is 30, with the fans of what ever semi pro outfit he ends up at, wondering how on earth this guy played for the clubs he did.

Right so the guy isn't very good. I think that's obvious.

But once again it's made worse by the fact our manager is asking him to attempt be some sort of silky, ball playing center half when it's absolutely clear he can barely control or pass a ball. We also horribly expose our center halves on a regular basis by giving them next to no support from the midfield or from the full backs. The only way he'd be useful in a team is if his sole job was to attack the ball in the air and blooter it away on the deck.

Again, this has all the hallmarks of a Lawwell moneyball signing. Manchester City player...Belgian international...available on the cheap. What could possibly go wrong? The worrying thing is that the manager said he isn't and he actually wanted him. Whatever the reason for him pitching up at Celtic Park, the manager doesn't have a clue what to do with him. Like about two thirds of his team.

He plays with all the poise and composure of a 5 year old with a 99p flyaway on Troon beach.

He's just not good enough. He'll show in the occasional game that he can defend (such as against Dundee) but over the course of 4/5 games he'll let us down.

Would be able to do a job for a team setting up defensively who don't attempt to play out from the back, but he's not a good enough defender to make up for his total lack of footballing ability with us. At least with Mulgrew he can play out from the back pretty competently.

His bottle went. Fully expect this guy to never appear again. He's finished.

Had he stayed on for for the duration of the game, (until he would have inevitably been red carded), we would never have made it as far as extra time. Shambolic performance.
He knew it , pulled up with a hamstring :suspect:

Bottled it
He pulled his hammy in the first 5 minutes, tried to play through it, but couldn't.

nowhere near as bad as some make out.

A good pre-season behind him and a settled partner and I think there is a player in there.

Hope he plays well and some daft, cash laden teams manager decides he's the man to build the team around! Do I hear 14 million, ok we'll start the bidding at 12 million :comp:

He's actually made a 24 man pre-tournament camp. Squad limits for the Euros are set at 23, and Marc Wilmots has already said one of his 9 named defensive players will miss out.

He's not definitely there yet.

Mental taking 24 then? Either 23 or about 30, one guy being told to leave is horrible!
Hopefully it might help us shift him, utter garbage. How he gets involved with Belgium international squad is a mystery.

They've basically named their squad, but Wilmots wants to take as much time as possible to decide upon his final defender. Caused by Kompany's absence.

Also probably caused in part by how much of a bombscare Boyata is.
