Seems like a confidence player and has no confidence that he'll receive help from his DMs. Not a great mix. Solid midfield and a settled defence and there may be a player in there. Maybe.

I have wondered whether the passes he plays - often risky ones into midfield - are happening because he's been asked to do it by the manager. Van Dijk and Denayer were capable of bringing the ball out of defence and it seems we've tried to replicate that with Boyata.
I think that's pretty clear what is happening. The same with the way the centre-backs are spread really wide across the pitch when the team has the ball, like Barcelona do. When there's a lack of movement and passing options ahead of him it makes things even worse - he's more of a no nonsense type IMO but has to bring the ball out and there's no one to give the ball to, so sometimes even ends up dribbling with it. He should not be expected to do that nor be making eye-of-the-needle or cross-field passes.

I would be interested to see him in a side which plays differently. Can't say for sure if he'd be any good but he's really not suited to the current setup.

Another diddy. We're like a home for the oddball footballer. Makes you pine for the days of Daniel Majstorovic.

I think he's the worst Celtic centre half in my lifetime.

Ricksened off against a lower league club after 25 minutes in the biggest domestic game of the season is about right for this effing imposter.

After about 5 mins he was feeling the back of his leg, he'd just conceded a corner to the bin bag iirc. Should have been subbed there and then. Didn't stop him fannying about thinking he's George Connelly right enough.

we got as far as we did in the game because he got injured

25 minutes of utter ineptitude that should see him shown the door in the summer

he looked terrified and if he hadn't been injured i'd have subbed him at that point anyway

I thought he did quite well today, by his standards.

Should never have been given a start today. Hes far to erratic and prone to crumbling under pressure to play in that sort of atmosphere. The fact we had a far better centre half on the bench who was fit enough to play 95+ minutes is nothing short of disgraceful.

Am I right in thinking his Cruff turn led to their first?

He is pish. Been saying it all season. An accident waiting to happen with the ball at his feet.

Amateurish trying to play on. Mulgrew was practically commanding him to go down and get treatment, allow the game to get stopped and allow us to get the sub on. Brain dead from him.

Not so much a bombscare as a walking nuclear meltdown. Big and quick though, so will make a fortune out of the game...

That was effing painful to watch.

I'd be willing to bet that may be the last time we see him in a Celtic jersey.
