Showing what he's capable of. Seems to have his confidence back. This guy has a lot of good attributes.

Made a lovely tackle in the first half when one of the Fennerbache players was breaking through and his pace and timing were spot on. He had a decent game but he gives me the fear when the balls at his feet. I don't know but he epitomises the fragility of the team to me.

That was a stoater of a tackle he made, absolutely spot on. No hesitation, just took everything. Great applause he got for it too :)

I like him. He is young and prone to the odd mistake but will hopefully learn from those mistakes. Would improve even further with a settled partner. Hopefully Jozo is that man.

Janko - Jozo - Boyata - Tierney in defense. It could happen sooner than we think.

I like him. Has the attributes now it's up to the manager and coaches to develop his game.

He had a good game against Fenerbahce but he, to an even greater extent than Ambrose from what I've seen, is a ticking time bomb who will ship a lot of bad goals. We need better.

there is absolutely nothing to substantiate that. Boyata will improve with games. He has already.

Also more chance of Dedryk learning from his mistakes at the age of 24. Efe will never learn from his mistakes sadly.

We've had two own goals, multiple slack passes straight into danger, completely missing the flight of the ball in the last second of the Hearts game. He's strong and a good tackler, but his concentration and passing ability seem to be poor.

Noticeable on Thursday how much Brown was helping him out by always being available for a pass.

I saw that, and Boyata looked far better for it. He is a player alright, not even in the same orbit as Efe. Confidence will grow with games, and I genuinely think he'll be a great defender for us. He knows how to tackle for sure.

Own goals mean very little, if they did Jamie Carragher, Rio Ferdinand and Phil Jaguelka would be amongst the worst centre halves of all time. They're very rarely down to an individual error.

His biggest issue so far has been his distribution. But as a centre half being able to play the ball forward is a bonus and not number one priority, and if he keeps it simple as he has in recent games hes fine. We've been a bit spoiled by having two ball playing centre halves last season but I think we'll have to reign that in a bit. I haven't seen any real mistakes other than his forward passing so far and nothing to suggest he's a bombscare in the Ambrose mould. The most encouraging thing is that he's a far better player already than he was 2 months ago. Let's hope it continues.

even the "own goals" thing is mental. Against Malmo, he was desperately unlucky as the ball played off him , and the other one at CP was Craig Gordon's fault 100%

Agree with you re the own goals. Still think just now he is a liability in possession but hopefully this will improve with game time.
