Getting better as he plays more games. As expected. He just hadn't played enough football.

That tackle on 16 minutes was superb, 3 guys pelting down the right hand side and he slides in, takes all of the ball, perfect.

I didn't think he had much to do. It seems that they are trying to get both Boyata and Ambrose to keep things simple and that seems to be a better game for both of them.
My only criticism is that his positioning at times is still quite poor but that is going to need to be a long term fix.

Did very well tonight. Hopefully Jozo is fit soon and they can build a partnership. They need a good run of games together.

Pity he couldn't have got a season alongside Vvd which would have brought him on a tonne. Definitely a player in there and judge him at the end of season.

Played well tonight. He looks the double of a young Sidney Poitier in The Heat Of The Night...

One of the Highlights from last night.

Hoping Boyata will settle down, I think he has the potential to be a real good player for us over the next couple of seasons. Looks very powerful, smooth at other times and his decent use of the ball is becoming more apparent with confidence and fixtures played. He's had some criticism but with the number of games he had played there was always likely to be some teething issues. Fingers crossed we may have another bumper that we can develop in to a top player.

Ridiculous booking last night aside, which was a farce, he played well.

terrific last night. As Remy says, he needs games. Certainly looks like a real good tackler, and has decent pace. When we get Simunovic alongside him for a dozen games , they could be a right good central defence.

I thought he played well last night. Much more solid, hopefully he can link up with Simunovic. If Simunovic is still out on Sunday would like to see Lustig at CB with Janko at RB if fit. I do think Lustig could potentially be a calming influence on Boyata and help him settle down with a reliable and consistent player beside him. RD doesn't seem to want to play Blackett much, he looks like Ambrose on a bad day at times.
Watching the Galatasaray CL game on Wednesday, kept thinking how much stronger the defence would be with Denayer at CP for another season.

Thought he was excellent last night. Won a lot of good headers and didn't give RVP a sniff. The big guy that came on gave him a bit more trouble but thought he handled him well enough

He was rock solid last night. As has been said, that tackle was superb. Positioning was excellent too and he was always in the right place to make headers and clearances. There's a player there.

Agree with that.

I have been pretty consistent in my view of Boyata. He's done well for us so far. Defenders will from time to time make errors.

There were already a couple of "I told you he was pish" posts floating around earlier in this thread.

Boyata has all the attributes to be a top defender for us. He has for the most part played very well in Europe.

Now all we need to do is get Simunovic fit and let the two of them build a partnership.
