If he isn't signing a new contract and he is in his last year then we have to sell, same with Armstrong. Get as much as we can and reinvest that money to improve.

He isn't good enough to be running down his contract.
His injury record should also stop him from taking the gamble of running down his contract.

A player with so many injuries would be mad not to take the security of a guaranteed three or four years, whether at Celtic or elsewhere.

He's not a player who should be contemplating running down any deal.

And yet he is.

The club would be negligent if we weren’t putting out feelers. Unfortunately we have to bring his replacement first probably.

He was for their goal. That's one of those crosses you're looking for him to make a better challenge for.

Thought he was o.k. - no more than that.

Not involved too much and nothing amazing - good or bad - couple of loose passes in quick succession and a needless foul balanced by a couple of good challenges.

Always looks as if his starting position is a bit off when the opposition comes forward and he is too often in no mans land - either not tight enough to the man in possession or the man receiving the ball.

Wasn't his man for their goal and he actually came across and covered well nearly getting a head on it. Not his fault.

Not saying he didn't look shakey at points, but think overall he had a good game.

A ball like that, you're looking for your most dominant aerial threat to attack the ball, his man or not.

Crazy to expect him to clear that based on his position when the ball came in, even if he is 'your most dominant aerial threat'

I would also like to see him with some tighter marking. Strikers hate strong and quick defenders not giving them any space. Boyata is very good when he is right against his man.

Decent game for him today though and have enjoyed watching him play.

Getting on a bit
[ * * * * * * * * * * ]
At the Tunisia first goal, he went back, playing them onside, then failed to get to the ball. For me that is his mistake!
Hope he has a good World Cup, he either comes back a better player for the experience or we punt him for perhaps crazy dosh!
Win, win for this bear!

I didn't say clear though did I?

He went in there like James Forrest ffs.

He was wrong side of a 6'1 player with Tunisia playing a good ball straight to Bronns head ffs. He could have clattered through and over Bronn to try and 'attack the ball' giving away a penalty in the process or could have tried to get into position to get a block in. (which he nearly did)

Not big Dedos fault. Fact.

That's twice in a row you're responding to something I haven't said.

Go back and look at what I'm saying.

You said you would 'expect him to attack the ball', no?

My last post is pointing out this wouldn't be possible without giving away a penalty.

With all due respect...BS

For a guy with his height and presence I'd expect him to be more of a presence than that showing. Im saying this as someone who likes Boyata and wants him to stay at Celtic.

That cross is right down the throat of your CBs and while it's hard to defend, you're expecting that header to be competed for a bit more vigorously instead of getting brushed aside by someone.

Its done now, the game is won, he looked ok. We're not in much danger of losing him to a big league on that showing thankfully.

Sometimes folk really struggle to give credit to Boyata when it's deserved. He has not looked out of place in that back 3, and I think you'd struggle to pick what one of them played in the SPL. Unless you knew the player in question was black. Then you'd be able to.

Did nothing wrong today.

Expecting him to win a header that wasn’t his man is ridiculous.

Solid again & not out of place.

Another non reader. Where did I say he's expected to win it? Eh...nowhere.

He was a complete non factor in their header. You think that's ok for a CB, I don't. Again, I like Boyata, I want to see him sign a new contract.

For someone of his size and leap I'd like to see a bit more of the Bobo than the Gary Caldwell.
