One last stop there from Boyata.

Had a good steady game, and unless you're a CFC supporter you would think he's a good defender :) (only joking as I think he get's too much stick for past issues, and lately has also been steady for the Hoops).

That's actually what's been said of him in the past. When he keeps it simple is a good defender, and only has issue's when he's had a brain fart and caused a problem. Generally is a good steady defender, and certainly no reason to sell (unless we get offered silly money for him after the World Cup)

He's in the final year of his deal. Of course we should sell him, like we should with everyone in that situation.

Solid game from him, although Panama didn't really offer that much. In fact, aside from a rash tackle in the opening minutes, I can't think of anything he did wrong.

Done well even though it was Panama. Got a bit more physical last 6 weeks or so of the season and keeps it simple. It’s when he starts to think he can play fitbaw the problems arise.

If he has a decent World Cup then we can cash in.

Forgot about that. With that in mind I'd probably accept the £15m for the big chap. He'd be an absolute steal for someone though.

I also forgot he was in his final year.

Ok, sell for 15 million ginger bottles (oops, that's reserved for the Donkey via the Sevco thread). Joking aside, if he was willing to sign a new deal for reasonable money and for another 3 years, then I'd be happy to keep him, but the big man knows he in thee biggest shop window with the World Cup, and this will open up a lot of options for him if he has a good World Cup (and tonight was a good steady start from him).

Dion Dublin's pre-match assessment of Boyata once again betrayed the utter lack of knowledge the English media are taking into this tournament: "He's a good player who can bring it out of defence and play a bit." Brilliant, Dion. Away back to your Dube.

Or Celtic fans are incredibly harsh on him? And he’s much better than a lot of folk think.

Why is a weakness? Maybe BR is content to have one forward going CB. As people on here have mentioned he is a good player when he confines his play to doing the basics.

His passing and composure on the ball is his weakess, got us into trouble a few times. At actually defending i.e Heading , marking , tackling , pushing people out wide etc. He is class , best we have.

The more he practices the luckier he gets.

Exactly this. Dublin picked out Boyata’s biggest weakness as his biggest strength, showing he knows nothing about him. It would be like praising Pirlo’s pace or Messi’s heading.

Panama weren't going to trouble them too much. If he keeps Kane quiet and has a good game then we might start to get decent offers or want to keep him.
