He looked nervous every time he had the ball at his feet making my blood pressure rise at the same time. Surely we must have someone better

He’s a fud.
No need for that

Definitely not good enough - sell him and Jozo and cut our losses, replace with better.

My main issue with him is just how bad he is with the ball at his feet. He's generally the one left with the ball as we bring it out from the back, however he takes so long to look comfortable on the ball (3, 4, 5 touches sometimes). This allows the opposition to organise and set up their block behind the ball.

I'd be confident in him clearing crosses with his head all day, but that's not our game.

When we beat Anderlecht earlier this season, Boyata and Jozo looked like a pairing that could play at the heart of our defence for the next five years. Hugely frustrating that they’ve both regressed back into their old ways since.

I think his problem is a mental one. If he had the attitude of a mjallby or balde we'd have a player but he often looks nervous or unsure and despite being a bigger lad, was bullied bu morelos.

i think his problem is that he knows he has not go the ability to be a top player - if he can't cruise through a few years at celtic get better and get a big club to come in for him he's not got it

Jozo also unreliable once he gets himself on the park

These two do not have a long term future with us

This. The way they both just switch off and have brain freeze moments is chronic at times. Boyata tends to get himself into trouble by trying to play football out from the back while Simunovic just looks a bit lazy and half-arsed at times. Ajer is still learning and has a long way to go but is probably more reliable than both of the other two.
Remains to be seen where Compper will fit in along with Hendry, who is morein the category of Ajer, a good prospect with a bit to learn yet, but looks good enough so far.

He's a effing dumpling. His inability to pass a ball is absolutely frightening.

Really struggles with the football we try to play, never going to a ball playing centre half. Even last season when everything was going our way I had serious doubts about how well suited he was to this type of role, even against Pedro's huns he looked a liability passing the ball.

With a different manager and setup he could be very good for us, as said earlier his performance against Anderlecht in Belgium was one of he best individual performances I have seen from a Celtic defender. I don't want another manager or setup though so I'd prefer we moved him on and tried to get a better fit in there.

He plays with the air of a man who has all the time in the world. Most defenders who play like that (Baresi, Cannavaro, Maldini, etc) can actually back it up. Boyata can't, far too casual in posession and guilty of wayward, half-hit passes. He is not half the player he thinks he is.

He’s never been very good throughout his career. He was Man City’s player from 2009 until joining us in 2015. Spent most of that time on loan and only racked up a total of 32 games. Don’t know why we ever signed a player with a profile like that.
