Might work as right back cover for Lustig in the short term but I honestly can't see him being trusted to start another campaign at the centre of our defence.
You want Boyata at right back?
Effy distinguished himself at right back on a few occasions. If he can do it, anyone can. :ph43r:
Noticed against the Huns that Hibs had Efe giving them most of their width. After Lennon said on national telly he couldn't play full back as he couldn't cross the ball

One of many who had a great spell of form last season that is fading away
The problem is that 3-4 months has been his only in form, injury free spell in 2 and a half years. I think he'll be away in the summer, he has 18 months on his deal and apparently isn't fussed on a new deal.
Boyata is 27 ( ), and only has 148 senior first-team appearances behind him at club and international level. By way of comparison, Kieran Tierney at 20 already has 117 games for Celtic and Scotland behind him. The flaws in Boyata's game - poor control of the ball, moments of poor concentration and a general air of nervousness - are indicative of a lack of development owing to a lack of games played relative to his age.

Or they're indicative that he's just not good enough.

I've never liked him. Like Ambrose before him he always has a mistake in him.

And he's got a cheek holding out on the new contract. He'll never play for a bigger club than Celtic again.

That was some tackle today. Still made a few dodgy passes but that tackle was immense

Shocking first half display. Passing is atrocious which most folk acknowledge but he is a massively overrated defender. Some folk on here think he’s our best :ffs:

Passing/concentration can let him down, but otherwise fine.

Do not let a long high ball bounce! It's not rocket science.

After a handful of promising performances here and there Boyata has proved that he is a fairly pish and unreliable centre half . Never going to be the centre half we hoped he could be. Full of mistakes and inconsistency.

For a pro footballer, his passing is unacceptable. As was Lustig's at times.

As always, he’s a good natural defender and his pace is a big asset.

But he is not a footballer.

The sheeps 15 minuet flurry in the first half coincided with Boyata having a few stinkers of a pass and it seems to make us nervous and them feel more confident for that wee period

The tackle he made in the second half was excellent and he was far more assured - as were many

Continues to give me the fear 99% of the time he has the ball.

Honking first half, better in the second half. Hoped he'd turned a corner last season but has Gone backwards this season

Punt :(

Liked the second half tackle but the big fella is a liability. Would have loved him to be the rock we build our defence upon but he has proved repeatedly he can't be trusted. :Bye:
