Look,Rab Douglas says both were at fault. So that's it settled ok?

:)
Rab is correct, They were both at fault.

If Douglas even watched it on TV, I'm blaming him.

Think they were both equally at fault, and if anything Gordon more so.

Split second decision as he doesn't anticipate Boyata letting it go.

He has to take some blame for coming that far out and not even taking the ball or the man. Although the ref may have looked on him as the last man at that speed as Lustig was sort of level with Coman until he got it under control.

Still has the occasional lapse / slackness but at times he looks like a Rolls Royce....when he was limping yesterday I thought we were going to be in big trouble in the weeks ahead such is his importance. Thankfully he seemed to run it off but he is now a hugely vital player for the club..now we need to find him a consistent & equally good partner. Biton is a very composed player but doesn't attack the ball or sense the danger as a more defensive minded player would. We really need 3 good quality centre back, at best we have 2 and I don't see much coming through the youths ready to step up.

His renaissance is similar, imo, to that of Paul Elliott. Mistake in midweek was poor but he is now a very strong presence for us. Hope he signs a new contract. Very good player; whoda think it.

Not how I recall it. I remember him being slaughtered at the start; in one of his first games we conceeded four at home to Partizan Belgrade.

Elliot was pretty average 1st season got booked every game if I remember right,it was his 2nd season he excelled apart from Dougie Arnott outjumping him for a goal at Hampden.

I am happy to eat humble pie here. I thought he was a total impostor and wanted him punted last season. I couldn't believe he was getting a start against Albion Rovers. He still has a mistake in him but he's physical and quick great attributes for a defender. A real turnaround.

I wouldn't agree he was average first season (though its nearly 30 years ago, yikes) but he did have a ropey start. Was a monster of a defender. Fair play to Boyata he worked hard to turn it about and his mistakes are an exception now rather than the rule.

I have heard his agent hasn’t responded to Celtic’s request for talks on a contract extension - don’t be surprised if we try and buy two centre halves in January.

He was injured as soon as he signed so it may have took him a few games to get up to speed but that didn't take long. Boyata was awful in his first season.

Zurawski posted an article quoting Rodgers himself in which Rodgers stated he wants Boyata to stay and that formal contract talks have already taken place between Boyata's agent and Pistol Pete.

That said Boyata turns 27 this month and has really only got his professional career going properly with Celtic which includes his getting selected and playing for Belgium - I have a feeling (hope I am wrong) it may prove difficult to get him to resign if he continues to develop and improve his game even further.

Elliot had a really poor start but turned out to be a very good player for us.

Elliot was very good from the start but got even better in his second season.

Nothing like Boyata who looked like he has no future at the club at all until the middle of last season.

Yeah I wasn't trying to compare their starts; obviously it has taken Boyata a lot longer than it took Elliott. Boyata does remind me a bit of him though, so powerful.

Took a few games for the big man to get going infact I'm sure he
was out injured first few weeks ,once he got going he was class but
referees seemed to enjoy booking him at any opportunity.

You'd think that would be all the more reason for him to see where his career is best looked after.

But never underestimate the power of the agent.

He was excellent against St Johnstone, I hope he sees what a good thing he's got going now and can build on it. I'd be more than happy if he was here for 3/4 years.
