Caught sleeping once, but Gordon was far more at fault for that goal than he was. Very good game otherwise.

Other than the error I thought he played very well.
He's still got a way to go but he'll get there, to compare experience Boyata has played less pro football than guys a good bit younger such as Callum and around half the appearances of a younger again John McGinn, safe to say he's still learning despite his advanced years.

I think Boyata's face told the story last night, it was his initial responsibility and anything that followed was a result of him failing to clear his lines and anticipating that ball. Gordon was hung out to dry and that trend appears to be continuing today with your post.

Has been good so far this season. Last nights performance was his season in ninety minutes, p!ayed great but had one dreadful mistake which cost big time. If he cuts the howlers out he will be top class.

His disappointment was good, that's him taking responsibility. He did make a mistake, not questioning that at all.

Simple fact is though that your goalkeeper's supposed to be positioned between the striker and the goal, not running straight past the striker somewhere outside the 18 yard box.

It was an error on a massive scale, a calamity and it was advantage Bayern from its inception. Gordon can't anticipate that mistake it's just too big a eff up.

Simple facts go out the window when ABC defending goes wrong, it's too much of a cock up to shift any blame let alone the majority of it.

He's done more than enough, since Rodgers came, to be allowed the odd mistake. Unfortunately for him this one came in a CL game and got punished.

Exactly.

He made a mistake, he realises it and now he needs to let it go. He has improved a lot since Brendan walked through the door and he can continue to do so

Often heard the same, and said it myself too, about Efe. The difference between the playrs we can get and top players isn't just about the skiil levels. It's about consistency and concentration too. Decent players, who have a big mistake in them every couple of games is what we have. And when you play at this level, you don't get away with it as you would in the SPFL. And the mistakes are more likely to happen in the big games
Buying an experienced CB to anchor the defence was a must, and still is.

Thats bollocks mate.

The goal is all on him.

All he has to do is head it back to Gordon or out for a throw and it doesnt happen.

He's prone to a lot of lapses in concentration and his passing can be a bit iffy from time to time.

We have to buy somebody better to partner a fit Jozo.

i thought it looked like Boyata got a call from Gordon to leave it and Gordon under estimated the pace of coman, it looked like Boyata left it more than missed it.

That's not what Gordon says in his interview. Boyata for reasons best known to himself left it.

He definitely left it. He ducked under it.

Only just seen it on TV. Boyata has to deal with it, but Gordon’s decision making is equally bad. Lustig was running with Coman and he still had plenty to do until Gordon totally sold himself.

As per the article Zurawski posted Rodgers has confirmed he wants Boyata to stay and sign a new contract and that formal contract talks have already taken place between his agent and Pistol Pete.

Fwiw at the game when play got underway again you could clearly see Rodgers was shouting over to Boyata to stay focussed and concentrate - He knew there was a crucially bad mistake (which will have pissed him off as much as the rest of us) but also realised he had to get his player instantly back on track to give of his best for the rest of the game which tbf Boyata did do,

Look,Rab Douglas says both were at fault. So that's it settled ok?
