Went back to page 50 or so for a look. Seriously, what is the point in having an opinion on a football player when Brendan Rodgers exists?
Speak for yourself.

I and a few others stuck by the big man and could see his potential to come good, in a better team :arrr:

I was never too down on him, but the overwhelming opinion was...not good.

You're having a laugh.
The only thing that everyone agreed on at the start of his Celtic career was that he was an athlete.
When he first came his game knowledge was very poor and it was only his speed that got him out of a lot of trouble that he caused to himself.

I and I am sure a lot of others wanted him sold as he was not what we needed. However whatever the coaching staff have done with him, when he came back from injury he has hardly put a foot wrong. He is also a great partner for Simunovic who seems to play better when Boyata is beside him and I think that's why they both played so well last night.

Totally.

I actually had a look through the thread a couple of nights back and it's brutal to say the least.

That's KDS for you though

I was somewhat unkind in the past. :ph43r:

He's been excellent of late, however, and last night confirmed that he's ready for the big time.

As beautiful as it is, it annoyed me last night.

He did all the hard work to take an attacker out of their pressing shape (one of the ultimate aims of keep-ball), then immediately undid it all by passing it back
That's where Brown was telling him to play it.

Great game last night. I definitely thought we needed an upgrade on him, but that was a fantastic performance last night. I'd still like cover because both of them have had their injury troubles.

In some ways, Boyata is still something of a rookie. Six years older than Tierney he's not really played much more first team football than him. Both of them perfect for Rodgers to help reach great heights.

Go read the thread and see for yourself

I'm not one for blowing my own trumpet (Joe the Baker) but it's there in black and white.

The coaching staff get too much credit. It's about confidence and organisation. Sure, they've helped but as the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water.....

Not that it matters but I believe I have defended him on here at times. No where near as bad as was made out in the past.

Couple of poor passes v ICT (I think) and everyone said his distribution was pish. A complete nonsense.

When he hit form last year people were saying wait until he plays the huns/aberdeen/hearts/cl qualifiers. He will be a donkey again if one of the best attacks in the World gets the better of him.

one thing's for sure. Wee Roberto Martinez would be a very happy man last night having seen DB perform like Maldini.

The sort of performance that earns you a call-up.

I reckon Brendan's used this as a motivation for the big man.

He confirmed last week that Matrinez is watching him and sees him as part of the squad.

Big man is playing as if he owns the place now and long may it continue.

Put in random pages, to see what the verdict was like back then.

Page 40 then page 50

First 2 comments I seen were "get this carrot to eff" and "worse than Efe, by a considerable distance"

The guy has done fantastically well, to turn his Celtic career on its head.

It was noticeable last night how much Jozo and Boyata were communicating. They seem to be at their best together. If only both can be kept fit.
