He's vastly improved since he's been out injured.

Well he has cut out all those mistakes.

Goals scored have dropped considerably tho

So, it's idiotic to ask for names?

Idiotic and stating the obvious is saying that there are better players than Boyata in the world.

However, who are they? How much would they cost? Who are you to say they are better?

I think are fair questions.

Fair question for a scout on £100k a year who spends every working day identifying and reviewing targets.

Stupid question for a random punter on a message board saying we need a better centre half. Especially when followed up with 'we don't have the budget..'.

"If you can't name anyone better then there's nobody better!!!!!!!!!!! haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :ffs:
Scouts on 100K? hahahahaha!

:cuckoo:

And as for the rest of what you said.......I didn't say any of it.
Gets you thinking that. How much does a scout make a yr. I'd imagine it'll be based on the performances of the guys they target. Can't see it being 100 k.

When is he able to play again? A run out this week, perhaps?
2 weeks ago BR said he was 3 weeks away from featuring so probably still a bit away in terms of full fitness/match sharpness.

I'd also be wary of him playing week in week out as soon as he makes his comeback. Could really be doing with him getting himself fully over this injury.
So we looking at Jozo and Biton against PSG then?

I think I might greet if we play Bitton VS PSG

Boyata will unquestionably start if he's able to. BR's made that very clear.

DEDRYCK BOYATA is set to hand Celtic a massive Old Firm boost — and land a new Hoops deal.

Key stopper Boyata has been out for two months with a knee injury but could start against Dundee on Wednesday.

That would put the Belgian ace, right, in the frame to face Rangers on Saturday.

Celts boss Brendan Rodgers also confirmed he’s keen to hand Boyata, 26, a new contract after his impressive form last season.

The Hoops gaffer said: “Dedryck is certainly one I’ll be looking to keep, so that’s something we will be looking at.

“It’s nice to have him back. Since the turn of the year and the trip to Dubai he has been brilliant with me.

“It’s a big year for him with Belgium and the World Cup coming up. We want to build him up and help him be involved in that.

“I always like to have a centre-half with real speed. Dedryck’s been back working hard in training for a few weeks, the next step for him is to get game time.

“It’s about managing it. Whether he can come in and play the next four on the spin, I’m not sure that will be the case. But he’s certainly ready to be introduced.

“It’s a relief for everyone and people can stop writing about needing centre-halves! We can move on to something else.”

The Betfred Cup could be seen as the least important of the four competitions Celtic are currently operating in.

But Rodgers insists he is determined to win the trophy after guiding the Hoops to a Hampden success last season.

Rodgers added: “I felt winning it last season was very important for us because of how we were working and how we started.

“It was a matter of having something to show for it. For me it will always be the most important trophy in my time here. Purely because, one, it was the first one, and also because it was the one which gave the players the belief in how we were working on a daily basis.

“They could then take that into the pressure games. So I see it as a very important trophy.

“I really like the concept of the final being in November.

“You are well into your season — you’ve played a lot of games. It gives that real competitive edge.

“For us, the Dundee game is great. If we can get through that then we are in the semi-final.”

Played a couple of passes which were a bit :twitch: , decent teams would profit. Very hard to tell how he's doing against that kind of opposition. Glad he's back though.

Done alright for first game back.
Few sloppy passes first half and misjudged one cross.

Grew into the game and looked more composed tenlonger it went on.

Good first 65 mins back. Not sure about the next two games. A bit like Dembele this week (and Jozo at the start of last year), might do better building up with just one game a week

Glad to see him back, but looked like he did not want to be passed to a lot in the first half. Hope it was just first game back jitters and he's back to his best soon, we need him!

Looks quite rusty but he is still our best defender (not our best passer by a long way).

Your definition of 'absolutely fine' must be interesting in that case.

I'm sure Boyata will be much improved on Saturday tho.

If Rodgers has any plans to play him in Belgium he needs another run out before then. The huns won't cause him any more problems than any other team in the league.
