His passing was never that bad. He had a horror show v ICT and since then people say he can't pass. I think the stats would say otherwise.

His first league game, against Ross County last season, suggested that he absolutely could not pass. 4 or 5 passes, when under no pressure, straight to an opponent, in the first half. It was  bad.

But good on him for now showing he's a better passer than that.

If he's still in the team by the time we play the huns, he'll probably get a hattrick  He's an absolute monster in the oppositions box and they're horrendous when it comes to balls in the box.

i wonder if Toure has helped out with some pointers for the big man , somethings definitely improved his game. If its Brendan then i would have liked to have seen if he he could have done the same for Johannsen

Wonder what odds you would have got if you went to a Ladbrokes kiosk in the ground at the Ross County game in Decemer and said you were betting on Boyata :worthy: playing against the Sheep on February 1st, being the MOTM and just for the treble he would score the winner.

In Brendan We Trust. :worthy:

In my opinion theres a bit of revisionism going on here from some folk. At times since he joined I said Boyata's passing wasn't as bad as some fans made out. At times I pointed out his potential because of his physical attributes. Earlier this season I said Boyata was above O'Connoll in the pecking order despite a lot of fans being impressed by the Irishman's performances in Europe. However, I'm no going to try & claim Boyata's dreadful performances are being overstated because they really were that bad. I remember his pass in the development squad game against Killie at the begining of the season where he tried to put it across the 18 yard line & gave it straight to the waiting Killie player who scored. It was one of the worst bits of play I've seen at any level. Genuinely below the worst youth teams I've watched over the years. That he has turned things around to such an extent deserves great praise for both himself and the coaching staff. Here is hoping he keeps going the way he currently is.

Boyata has everything to be a top class Centre Back. When any footballer is making the passing mistakes he made it's probably down to concentration and confidence. The way Brendan likes to play Boyata with his errors would have been a nightmare. He has obviously worked and trained really hard to iron out those problems and now looks a first pick and a major asset.

As I've said previously, as much as I like Erik, Boyata brings far more to the table.

If Sviatchenko is going to get back in the side, right now it will be at Simunovic's expense.

Na, sorry. That's one carrot I was glad to see the back of. Dour faced, not interested. Good riddance. I'm more than happy to see a turnaround from anyone still around but I certainly haven't been losing any sleep over Johannsen not getting a chance, or anyone else thats been moved on for that matter. Chuffed for big Boyata though :rocker:

Jozo is going to have to play really, really bad for that to happen and I know he had a dodgy 1st half last night. He's a better player than Eric.

Our best player last night. Brilliant performance.

A touch of class from BR to give him his moment in front of the fans at full time.

Brilliant confidence building Man Management - Told Boyata and the Support Boyata now had the jersey and Rodgers is sticking by it - Might not suit Erik but that's the way it should be - If he wants back in as first pick he will need to prove to Rodgers in training that he should start ahead of Simunovic or Boyata and right now he has a job on his hands getting there.

Competition between very good players for the CB positions - Good stuff. :rocker:

He'll definitely score against Sevco. They can't defend any kind of aerial attack.

I seen recently Boyata praised Toure for his return to the team as well.

Toure, not playing much atm, but still playing a part behind the scenes as you'd expect with a total professional.
