Pure pace players always seem to struggle in our set up and Forrest has been a pure pace kind of talent. We just don't get pressed enough domestically for quick players to take advantage of. It doesn't matter how fast you are when there's only 5 yards of turf to play in.

I'd like him to stay and at the same time he might progress better in a different environment than ours.
Fair point but he has to adapt then does he not?
He's not a clever enough player

He's all pace and is even losing that now

There are always places to improve but his main attribute is the ability to run faster than his opponent. That's tough when right behind your opponent is the byeline.

He needs to leave, going nowhere with us. Be more suited to the likes of Aberdeen.

Forrest has to wake up to the fact that, currently, he can't get a start before any of MacGregor, Armstrong or Commons. He should be a far better option than all of them.
And there, possibly, is the key:

"should"

I've always been a fan, but he really hasn't impressed now that he is over his injuries. We should try and get as much as we can for him in the summer.

It'll be £0.00 if he doesn't sign a new contract

As much as I'd like Forrest to do well, as he's a quality player when on form, if he isn't signing a new contract he should go now. No use keeping him if he's away for the qualifiers.

That handball the other night. :ffs:

Good call.

They could do with a back up for Jonny Hayes - James would never get a game in place of him.

Hayes is way more consistent - he is dangerous , tricky and hard working.

He is also really quick and whips in some great crosses.

James- injuries have not helped but he doesn't have the fire in his belly or the trickery to be a star.

Deila said earlier in the season he was operating at 70% of his capacity and he would be some player if we saw the full thing.I fear the mystery of the missing 30% of James Forrest might not be amenable to a solution.

Heard the same thing about GMS last year, throw Armstrong in there aswell. It's much easier to play for Aberdeen than us.

If you think Forrest would replace Hayes at Aberdeen you have not been watching either player.

They already have their James Forrest - Peter Pawlett.

Fast runner - plays well every now and then - currently watching from the subs bench or a seat in the stand.

It's make or break time for Forrest. I like him a lot, I've defended him on here for a good few years now. But he's going backwards, the young exciting talent that broke through under Lennon is a distant memory. Back then he would offer blistering pace, real width and a genuine goal threat.

He offers very little of that these days and hasn't for a while. I'd hate to see him leave but we can't keep him around in the hope he regains his form.

Make or break time has come and gone I think.

It's turning into the Shaun Maloney annual 'make or break' thread.

Pretty much. He'll be 25 in the summer and people still talk about him like he's a youngster with potential.

Keep, but don't go mental with wages. He is the one player in our squad at the moment with blistering pace. I also think he has improved a good chunk under Ronny.

But we'll have to sell if he doesnt sign a contract soon, cant be let go for nothing.
