Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I'd say 5 of your 6 are up for debate.
I'd say Brown, Bitton and Lustig aren't even close to up for debate. Been poor to pish all season. Tierney's done really well but played 3/4 games.
Well you've got to 4 sharpish.

And I agree on all of those

He's been one of our best players this season. I find the dislike of him absolutely bizarre.
 Even more bizarre than the dislike. He really hasn't been. There are 6 players who are well ahead of him so far. A few decent games doesn't make a player one of the better players though in fairness the majority of the team have been quite bad.
Did I miss a press release? Are we now playing 7-a-sides?

Because if not you can still be one of our best players even if 6 players are better than you. We have a first team squad of 29 players.

I haven't reached the listing of who the 6 are yet. I'll be interested to see.

OK. I've caught up. It was definitely an... interesting list.

Griffiths the only one on the list I'd say is well ahead of Forrest, but since he's well ahead of everyone that's no great surprise.

He's scored five times as many goals as our best attacking threat, Forrest

Has anyone actually watched Forrest this season? Shocked by some of the comments in here.

As someone who was ready to give up on him, he's surprised me a lot - he's been excellent in just about every game. Tore the Malmo left-back to shreds at Parkhead. Even Malmo away, he was the only player looking like doing something and the only one who came away with an ounce of credibility. He was by far the most dangerous threat for Scotland vs Germany too so much so they doubled up on him. Excellent away to Ajax, and again at home to Fenerbache. His only poor performance was Molde at home. I think we're finally seeing him start to reach his potential, we just have to pray he's able to stay fit.

The sad reality is that after Griffiths, who has clearly been our best player this season, the rest have ranged from mediocre (Lustig) to shampoo (Boyata) to underpar (Gordon).

It's all much of a muchness.

How far we have fallen when this chancer is classed as "excellent" - if he put as much effort into his football as he does his hair he'd be some player. He's as welcome in the 1st team as a watery fart on a long haul flight.

Proof positive that two people can see the same game and leave with completely opposite views on what they witnessed!

I think this season has been one of some progress for James - he is capable of driving me daft with disappearing acts but has had been very effective in a number of games this season.

His recent form is typical I think.

Waste of space at Tynecastle , did well against the sheep , disappeared as a sub against Molde then great second half against Ross County.

Tynecastle in particular was annoying - up against a young full back who was booked early in the game he should have been running at him constantly - never went near him.

Yet at Dingwall with the game in the balance in dreadful conditions he ran them ragged for a spell in the second half.

You just don't know what you will get.

That run and cut back at the weekend is exactly the kind of stuff you want to see from Forrest. Unfortunately too often he cant deliver that. I thought he looked good at the weekend, not one of our most important players great or up for player of the year great but looked good.

It still doesnt take away from the fact we dont get enough out of him. Another season will be gone and we will be told next year will be a big year for him injury wise. Its like Groundhog Day. I feel desperately sorry for the lad because he clearly has something, just cant show it be it to injury, lack of sharpness and decision making. All that would improve i guess if he could somehow last a season without being sponsored by Loctite.

If McGregor started as many games as Forrest he'd have scored far more goals. That's how bad things are.
Steady on
The bhoy has goals in him for sure. Very direct and a a good finisher if nothing else. I reckon he's only started dozen games in all hhis time at Celtic and will have scored in at least half of them.

Sounds like the agent is playing funny buggers.

James Forrest: Celtic 'waiting on agent over new contract'

Celtic's attempt to secure James Forrest on an extended contract have been held up by the Scotland winger's agent, according to boss Ronny Deila.
Deila said earlier this week that the 24-year-old was the next member of his squad he would like to tie down.
"We have tried to get hold of his agent, so you can write that, when he has time, he can come in and discuss an offer," joked Deila.
"We have tried for a while, so hopefully he will come - like Santa."
Deila had been quoted at the weekend as saying that talks had been held with Forrest, whose current deal ends in summer 2017, and that the terms offered appeared to be agreeable.
"Maybe he has a lot to do," he added about attempts to complete a deal with the agent.
"I don't know how many players he has.
"It doesn't concern me, but hopefully we will get contact now and start talking."

If there's the slightest hint that he or his agent are stalling, get him to eff.

I quite like him. And on the rare occasions when he's fit and on form he can be an important player. But if there's anyone in our squad who hasn't earned the right to equivocate over a contract offer, it's our James.

I have no idea why we would renew the contract of a guy who does about 1/4 of his job. Any other profession we wouldnt be looking at keeping this lad on.

Speaking about him tonight, it seems he thinks he can get a better deal than us. Good luck with that son.

I'm new. Be gentle.
I've seen James Forrest - this season included - run the @rse off international defenders and put the ball on a plate for the centre forward to score. Where else are we going to buy and wage that ability from? While he has it in his locker, the club has no choice but to try to get his fitness and consistency levels up.

Going on the recent performance of our scouting department and manager, we could spend a fortune on a replacement and not get a player half as good.

Not denying his ability however overall he misses too many games through injury. I would re-sign him if his demands were reasonable however his agent make have other expectations.

Conflicting reports on whether the contract expires summer or December 2016.
