Getting noticed in the reserves

Anyone who can't see Forrest is a player knows very little about football. We have a young player who plays on the wing and scores goals, who can take players on and beat them but has been very unfortunate with injuries. Much better than GMS and will certainly be the catalyst for far more victories if he can stay fit and injury free.

Problem is he's never fit, is huffy, has a poor cross & generally falls over a lot.

I'd give him a contract if he can improve his consistency & effort.

He was brilliant last Wednesday & has that performance to build on.

I wouldn't be happy giving him anything until he does that.

Decent performance on Wednesday, wasted 3/4 good chances and his failure to collect the ball after our corner for their first caused their counter. Crossing and decision making are seriously poor. Wouldn't offer him a contract until October or November as he will probably pick up an injury and if he does then it's time to say goodbye.

This.

He had a great game on Wednesday but he looked more dangerous than he was.

The amount of posts that start with a positive and end in a negative, if this were the Griffiths thread you'd be accused of having an agenda against him.

I have heavily criticised Forrest over the past two season, rightly so IMO......however the way he has started the season has lead me to eat a bit of humble pie and admit that there might be THAT player in there that we all hoped he could be when he first burst onto the scene. I feel that if he manages to stay fit for a decent period then he is only going to improve both in fitness and consistency, of course he has made mistakes this season, of course he has made wrong decisions at crucial times but there isn't a single player out there who hasn't or who doesn't. Due to what has happened to him over the last couple of seasons and given the fact he was our great white hope when he first broke into the team, his every game is overly analysed and every mistake magnified.

I wouldn't offer him anew contract just yet but if his form continues to improve until the winter then it would be difficult not to offer him one.

*however if he does become the player we hope of him, he will be the next one to be punted for lots of cash!

EDIT: Just realised he is in his final year.....bit of a dilemma then, do we offer him one in the hope that this time he has finally gotten over his injuries and will be become more consistent or do we wait and see how it goes for the next few months knowing that if he does stay injury free and improves he will be able to start negotiating with other clubs :ponder:

crossing comes up again. hard when you've little to aim at, literally and even the best struggle for a 1 in 5 hit rate.

The only real positive thing to come out from tonight, looks back to his best and if he continues his current form he will go a long way to silencing his critics.

Or getting sold.

One of the two anyway.

I think he means he's got plenty of bark and little bite.

What he needs is his team mates to attempt to make themselves available and then something might happen.
That goes for any celtic player in possession. The lack of movement in this team is feckin awful.

Yep. Whilst his running is encouraging, it's utterly pointless most of the time.

Nobody looking for the ball from him. No point in having a winger if there is no carrot in the box

Started getting the better of his man in the first half, so was switched sides at half time. Started getting the better of the right back and was subbed. :ffs:

That's one way to look at it.

I thought he proved once again that he's learned absolutely nothing since he came into the first team. All pace, no intelligence.

Two games where he's looked dangerous but created nothing and caused very few problems.

He was far and away our best performer last night.
Don't understand people who think he didn't cause them many problems.

Only player in the second half that played with any directness and looked as though he wanted to win the game
