Could be the difference for us over there without a doubt - has the talent, now looks like he has the fitness and the confidence.

Well in last night wee man!

I've been highly critical of Forrest on this thread but last night he was superb.

He seems to be a different player, perhaps a bit of belief in himself?

I've never thought he had the stomach for the fight but if he continues on like last night if be more than happy to eat a massive slice of humble pie.

Keep it going James, prove me wrong
Highly critical? You were like the Westboro Baptist Church at a gay, communist, atheist, AIDS victim's funeral.

Bit premature imo. He's had a couple of good games but how often does he play well for a few games then get injured or hit a bad run off form. We made that mistake with McGregor and gave him a 5 year contract after 2 or 3 good games.

He's also had many more poor games. Give him at least a few months to show some consistency then he might deserve a new contract.

McGregor got his contract after performing well in Europe and scoring a number of goals.
His wage also won't be that high.

Forrest is completely different, we know what he can do and he's had more than a couple of good games.
If you mean since his last injury then fair enough, but it's not like he's a wee guy that's just came up from the youths and we aren't sure about him.

A new deal for a guy in the last year of his contract isnt premature.

Letting forest's contract run down would be complete idiocy.

The 5 year deal for McGregor was ridiculous.
At the time it didn't look that way, young player, low wage, was scoring in Europe.

Anyway, the main point is that offering Forrest a new contract is not premature.

For anyone that had looked beyond McGregor's goals and actually watched him play, it was a ridiculous deal and many said it at the time.

i remember people pointing out that it was a good deal for the club.
Low wage, potential to get better.

Did you say it was ridiculous at the time?

As with others I'm rarely a Forrest fan, but he has played well in his last two, lets see if he sustains it.

However, Lennon and now Deila rave about him. Given that they have both played and managed in professional football and I haven't, I'm prepared to think that I'm less likely to spot the fines points of his contribution than them.

And letting any player's contract run down is madness unless there are unlikely to be any parties interested in buying.
